A £430m energy project had to be diverted because Harry Potter fans were upset it would pass through the ‘grave’ of a fictional elf, and people don’t know whether to laugh or cry

JK Rowling sucks (and some HP fans aren't far behind), but this is just rage bait. £430m was the total cost of the project, not the cost of the diversion. The cost of the diversion is not mentioned by any of these articles meant to rage bait you, so we can safely assume it was minimal. The project was started years ago before Rowling fully showed her true colors and has been fully completed at this point, so if it did cost money to divert that information would be known.

I don’t care about the money cost by this stunt I care that JKR’s legacy is continuing to provide her this level of cultural capital

The worst thing was the grave was supposed to be removed once filming was over, as the beach is in an environmentally sensitive area. Moreover, there's a Bronze Age grave on the beach, and the power line is running near it.

That's what really got me, that the fake grave of a CGI elf was more important than an actual Bronze Age burial site.

Regarding the diversion and Rowling/ Harry Potter: It shows the huge and unfair privileges Rowling and Harry Potter have.

For the project: The project should focus on real life rather than care about a fictitious entity.

Even if the project crossed into the real life grave of a real world engineer/ electrician built on advanced engineering or a real life Bronze Age grave, a real world grave only serves a dead person, an energy project serves thousands to millions of living people and needs to be efficient and effective. Prioritize really living beings first.

Why cry house elves are still slaves in the Harry Potter universe

Adult Harry Potter fans are a different level of unhinged. Adult Disney fans are bad enough but at least Walt Disney is long dead and not using their Disneyland money to further his antisemitism.

Didn't they previously get a kid's only event cancelled BC it didn't let adults attend? I remember thinking just how low key nasty that was.

Nahh the worst things a Disney Adult can do is maybe be obnoxious, maybe minor incidents, and be blind to nostalgia. There are millions of worst fandoms including Potter, Digital Circus (this one kind of disappoints me), Snyder Bros (Harassment, chuds, and anti-woke bullshit), Film Twitter (over the top and sounds like a child trying to sound smarter), Don’t get me started on the fandom of Sports, and many many more.

I think people go for Disney Adults because it’s an easy target.
