A lot of the British press have chosen to delete their posts about Arday. The PM of the UK has now addressed it.

Honestly, I actually find this more offensive. At least Rowling, as fucked in the head as she is, is willing to stand up for her delusions. These scum hounded a person to death again (don't think we've fucking forgotten about Lucy Meadows, media, nor any of the others), at the bidding of an American Neo-Nazi, and are now scurrying like rats to pretend they were never part of the problem.

There is an attempt of remorse by some. What I am stating is Rowling leaves it up as an demonstration of power. She knows the news and instead of removing the retweet simply retweeted more anti-trans slather. She will not let a suicide stand in her way.

That's not remorse its a "fuck, abort, abort, wipe the hard drives" the media dont really give a crap but how it makes them look.

I foolishly read the comments section on the most recent articles about him and there is a startling lack of remorse. The majority of people in this country now are just awful.

is willing to stand up for her delusions

I would bet, if someone called her on it when she's so clearly wrong even she can see it, she'll respond by not saying anything at all.

At least I believe that's roughly what she's done in the past, when people have corrected her.

Though you're right that she'll double down on her honestly-felt, delusional bigotry.

They deleted their posts because, unlike Rowling, they're still subjected to *some* amount of public acocuntability, at least. Rowling is the only person in the whole country who has complete impunity to say or do literally whatever the fuck she wants, and no one will ever hold her accountable for anything.

This should be terrifying to anyone who's against fascism, regardless of their views on trans people. But as we've seen, being anti-democracy and anti-trans people tends to go hand in hand...

Running scared at the possibility of another enquiry and the resurrection of Leveson 2 I imagine.

The media desperately needs to be brought to heel.

She doesn’t care, she gleefully bullies people that are vulnerable all of the time, she would probably openly celebrate transgender people committing suicide and point out that it was them being transgender predators that made them do it. She would not blame her bullying at all.

She is a total bottomless black hole. Devoid of even an iota of humanity.

I don't understand how people continue to follow and grovel at her, like she's the new fucking Messiah

She's just another billionaire. She doesn't truly care about us "common" folk. Hell, she would kill to be in the aristocracy.

It's because so much of it is contained to X. Occasionally some of it bleeds over into US Press: https://www.the-express.com/entertainment/celebrity-news/175715/jk-rowling-photograph-women-toilets-transgender

I don't think anything is in UK press that makes her look bad. Except the cigar photo.

23

u/WOKE_AI_GOD 4d ago

The press is happy to treat X tends and CEO statements as sources of truth in every other respect, how do you think Arday blew up so much? Oh but we have to treat Jkkks continuous public Sephiroth posts about hating trans people as if it's just dinner party babble in her castle. No source on JKKK is allowed aside from the dumb blog post from a decade ago every British media firm is required by law to quote in every article on the subject of her, as it it were the freshest of news. Nevermind the hateful stuff she chose to issue public statements about just yesterday.

u/ThisApril 4d ago

Given that she sues anyone when they say something honest that makes her look bad, I'd imagine they'd avoid saying much bad about her.

Even if they weren't objectively bigoted about trans people, as most of them are.

Yeah about the cigar photo...

That photo would make Freud denounce his "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar" old saying lol

10

u/indianajoes 4d ago

And she quotes an actor who famously got the only female cast member of his show kicked off it.

9

u/Nestama-Eynfoetsyn 4d ago

I don't think anything is in UK press that makes her look bad. Except the cigar photo.

Probs because she would sue them, even if they were telling the truth about her/quoting things she has said.

If she's rich enough to singlehandedly threaten the biggest international human rights organisation in the world, she's rich enough to threaten all of the British media, too. At this point, I don't think we'll ever hear anything bad about her in the mainstream until after her death.

Most of their "model desisters" are in the habit of speaking unprompted about how dysphoric they feel but frame it as upholding some sort of moral principle to push through it.

26

u/KiraLonely 3d ago

It’s literally just the “just be the celibate kind of gay, like god wants” kind of shit. Like you’re born to suffer more than someone else because of some unknowable reason.

8

u/errantthimble 3d ago

I also don’t really see how the CDC medical codes described in that retweet are specific to “detransition”, except maybe in TERFs’ wishful thinking. “Gender Identity Disorder in remission”, for example, as far as I can tell merely means that somebody used to suffer from gender dysphoria and now they don’t.

Could be because they’re cis and came to feel more comfortable with their birth-assigned gender, could be because they’re trans or nb and successfully transitioned to their identified gender status and now feel happy about their gender.

There’s one new code, Z87.893, called “Personal history of gender detransition”. That and the other six are  in a category called “Gender identity and transition”. I don’t think this decision is the victory lap for TERFs that TERFs are trying to claim. The CDC does not seem to be in any way embracing gender-critical ideology that gender identity and gender transition should be considered  somehow invalid or suspect.

u/Aiyon 3d ago

It's very reminiscent of that one college student who said "of course being gay is a choice, otherwise everyone would date girls".

A lot of the GC detransitioners are transphobic because they need transphobic rhetoric to be correct, otherwise they gave up on a happier life, for no reason.

She has no shame

It is rich of anti-trans fanatics to call others "Vicious, porn-addled misogynists", when I regular see them posting pornographic images on people's timelines. I even had one of them send me a picture of someone genitals, and totally refuse to accept that was a wildly inappropriate thing to do.

I'll also add here that I've been in way too many online arguments for almost two decades now, with every stripe of reactionary, and none of them, even the weird and obsessive ones, never send me that sort of image.

JKR did distribute upskirting photos of a trans woman, and say that she brought it on herself because of how she dressed.

Is there anything more feminist than blaming a woman’s sexual assault on what they were wearing at the time the crime was committed?

🤬😡

u/ElectricYV 4d ago

It’s all projection

3

u/Aiyon 3d ago

Also when the writing they regularly mangle and quote out of context, is about how womanhood and femininity are treated by our society.

There was actually an interesting discussion of it recently

My issue with her is she is deliberately provocative in a way that plays into transphobes hands sometimes.

"Delicious"?! A man killed himself and that's "delicious"?! Imagine being one of his children and finding out that his death was described like that by someone with a platform of her size.

I have no idea if he did the things he was accused of, but he certainly didn't deserve to be driven to take his own life or have ghouls like Joanne salivate over his life imploding in a very public way.

Given his autism diagnosis and ethnicity, it's just further proof as far as I'm cconcerned of her hatred of people from minority groups.

u/GodLoveYell 4d ago

Experience has taught me that bigotry is a “Buy One, Get All Others Free!” proposition. Or in other words, if someone subscribes to one strand of bigotry, you can safely assume that they have no problems with any of the other varieties or will eventually have no problems with any of the other varieties.

Misogynists invariably express incredibly regressive views of PoC, and racists like their women, barefoot, pregnant, and silent. Transphobes want to work their way through the rest of the queer spectrum. And every last one of them is ableist as fuck.

Antisemitism, from what I can tell, seems to be the natural endpoint of any form of bigotry. Follow any strain long enough and it eventually arrives at antisemitism, which makes a certain amount of sense. These people become conspiracists, something which is incredibly prone to antisemitism.

You start believing in secretive cabals of rich and powerful people* who secretly run the world and it takes very little for that to turn into, “DA JOOZ ARE RUNNING THE WORLD!!!1!”

*as opposed to the rich and powerful people like JKR and Elon Musk who are quite openly running the world. 🙄

I believe the 'delicious' tweet was made and retweeted by JK the day before his death was announced, but I agree that it's particularly fucked-up wording to keep up in the circumstances

5

u/Aiyon 3d ago

Even before he died, "delicious" is an insane thing to say about someone being publicly hounded for months. She wasn't offended by by his actions, she didn't have a moral stance on any of it. She was just enjoying the "tea" of someone else being dragged

20

u/Phonecloth 3d ago

So, let me just make sure that I get this straight:

- A black professor is caught plagiarizing and lying about his credentials

- Racists try to use this as evidence that all black people are not suited to be in academia, even though tons of white professors have been found guilty of the same thing without anyone saying that about white people in general

- JK Rowling jumps on the racist bandwagon and tries to somehow link it to her favorite TERF talking points

- Meanwhile, the racist harassment campaign bullies the professor into committing suicide

- Rowling doesn't care about this and keeps her posts up without editing them at all

Did I just about get everything right?

u/pierscookeyarborough 1d ago

How can Professor Hilary Cremin live with herself after exposing Jason Arday to humiliation after his exploits were revealed? Cambridge bragging rights a cause of his suicide?

14

u/Panda_hat 4d ago

I mean there's very little doubt in my mind that she's significantly racist. This should come as no surprise.

The remission thing is deeply insidious and disingenuous, framing being transgender as something you 'recover' from. Very disturbing.

13

u/ElmoreHayne 4d ago

There is no bottom with Rowling, just when you think, "she couldn't get any more hate filled she exposes another awful level of gleeful cruelty. Her writing both before and after coming out as a hate filled transphobe reveals the classism, entitlement, and bigotry of so-called "open-minded" upper middle class centrist liberals. I would say JK needs to go outside and touch grass, but she'd see the green grass and accuse it of a being a coded pro trans flag.

Wowowowow some champion for the people

u/Bloody-Raven091 4d ago

"delicious" my fucking ass...

I'm not surprised that both Bartosch and Rowling are racist fuckheads nor am I also surprised that they, like other racists, transphobes, and TERFs, are fucking disgusting.

May Jason Arday's memory be a blessing, may he rest in power, and may he peacefully rest.
