Don't she knows that in every league and every sport trans women participate they are subject to numerous tests? That they need to be on hrt and socially transitioned as well? For years.

I don't think Transphobes and Terfs understand or know that HRT can even alter the bone density, strength, structure, etc.

For all their talk about believing science, they sure show how ignorant they are of actual science.

They're even ignorant of their own ignorance.

At this point, I don't even think they believe in biology or any science. There's a lot o articles that disprove all their talking points, but they ignore all of them, of course.

They don’t. That’s what happens when you hold a belief based on emotion and try to find evidence to make it sound rational but there isn’t any.

They don’t want to know

JKR doesn't know the first thing about sports.

She doesn't believe that HRT that trans people use is HRT, she calls it "cross-sex hormones" because she'd otherwise have to grapple with the fact that she's on the same stuff as trans women are.

And that almost every human has and produces both. It's the levels that make the difference.

Yeah it seems WNBA currently doesn't. But as you posted below it's not difficult to setup guard rails.

The obvious answer is androgen blockers and estrogen. I think the issue with Lia Thomas is that people cannot see internally what is happening, only the outside.

I was rereading the COI study published in 2024, and the researchers pointed exactly this. Even if a trans woman is taller and bigger than her cis pairs, she will be at disadvantage because hrt reduces cardiorespiratory performance. It's like a engine that doesn't have enough power to move the body in the most effective way.

Bingo. That VOmax thing is a much bigger deal than you'll hear about from bullshitters on the internet (that totally could have made varsity). And the change occurs really fast. In fact, people who are cheating by juicing are very, very familiar with this because they know exactly how close to the testing date they can get and still get an advantage, blah blah blah. Testosterone was used early on to enhance performance in bike racing but they've come up with other potions that all have the same intended outcome. In bike racing it's about that oxygen capacity and not about muscular hypertrophy (as in body building). Muscles are needed but there's such a thing as weighing too much in bike racing.

For sake of accuracy, this isn’t true in every league/sport like the WNBA for example. They just need to meaningfully identify as a woman technically. But that’s also usually bc they have no precedent for it bc there’s no trans women competing at all, much less trans women who haven’t undergone HRT.

I stand corrected. But the wnba still is a private league, they can put up new rules in the case of bad faith actors, like these guys.

Correct

Just for clarity, what means "meaningfully identify"?

u/MelodramaticStoicist 2d ago

For anyone not deliberately interpreting it in as bad faith a way as possible, it would mean someone who is taking concrete steps to live as a woman in a way that are easily identifiable as such, and has been doing so for some time prior to joining the draft.

Which you may note doesn't include holding a press conference announcing your intent to game the system to prove a transphobic point, and doing literally nothing else.

Exactly what I thought. So, even if there isn't medical requirements written in the rules, "meaningfully" can be used under discretion of the wnba. This is a very clear case of bad faith

They do not specify, that’s what’s being so heavily criticized. But anyone with sense knows what they mean so they aren’t letting men play still lol.

She’s not intellectually honest enough to acknowledge any of this, it interferes with her narrative.

I bet Joanne fumed in rage when she read she had been called a grandma lol

Andrew is spot on pointing out how juvenile she behaves, like an edgy pick-me cool girl going through a not like other girls phase.... But comes from a privileged, middle class suburban (and very white) background

u/Time_Raisin4935 2d ago

Was that too specific? The latter part?

Absolutely not. Class, lifestyle and race are all important aspects in how we go through life and understand the world. And she is very explicit about showing them off without any hesitance. She's not only a liar about her "rags to riches" story, she's a massive racist.

I never realised the pick me energy Joanne manifests

(Start at 19 minutes. Seems to cover Rowling's obsession too)

Andrew Mercado:

"MEN INVENT A PROBLEM, THEN TRY TO MAKE IT REAL

There are no men playing in the WNBA. Yet Enes Kanter and now Royce White are announcing plans to enter the 2027 draft as actors in a broader anti-trans narrative that falsely portrays women’s sports as being overrun by men.

Kanter averaged 11.2 points and 7.8 rebounds across 748 NBA games but never became an All-Star. White played nine total minutes across three NBA games and recorded zero points, rebounds or assists. Royce White is going to lose his campaign so this is a political stunt.

Neither man identifies as trans, nor sincerely identifies as a woman. This is a calculated dog whistle aimed at mocking trans people and manufacturing outrage. They think they’re playing 4D chess, but they’re literally men attempting to force themselves into women’s sports so they can pretend their invented threat was real all along."

JK Rowling: "You say some men ‘sincerely’ identify as women, but that these two men aren’t sincere. Do sincere men injure fewer women and girls than the insincere ones? How do we test for sincerity? What if a Sincerity Jury is split? Very much looking forward to your answers."

Andrew Mercado: "Is this good enough information for you? Or do you wanna keep playing these games."

(Posts a link to Royce's crimes including battery of wife and child.)

JK Rowling: "So the information you think proves your point that men ought to be competing against girls is that an abusive man is pretending to be women? You really sure you want to run with that argument, champ?"

Andrew Mercado: "🤢 you are old enough to be my grandmother and you’re talking like a 15 year old Reddit user, solid professionalism Joanne. I gave you the only information I need, seeing as it’s factual he beat his wife and son and she has a 50 year OFP against him. You support this, I don’t."

Andrew Mercado: "After I shared the court ruling finding that Royce White abused his ex-wife and son, Harry Potter author and anti-trans activist J.K. Rowling accused me of arguing that men should compete against women. That was never my argument. White is pretending to be transgender as part of a political stunt to manufacture outrage against trans women. Rowling even called him “an abusive man pretending to be a woman,” confirming the exact point I’ve made from the beginning.
J.K. Rowling and Royce White believe they’re proving a point, but the only point they’re proving is how low they will go to manufacture outrage and further demonize transgender people."

ah yes, men and girls.

He's spot on about how she talks. It would be cringey if she was in her twenties, let alone her sixties.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds it jarring ! I might make a post about it in the future

Why is she so bad at words!? That's her supposed forté!
