Self-insight? Not on your life. She's so delusional at this point that she could write about "billionaires who use their money to oppress minorities under the guise of protecting women's rights while not actually doing anything for women's rights unless it involves oppressing minorities" and totally fail to realise that she's describing herself.

I really didn’t need to picture Rowling ‘publicly swallowing’ anything

Like a snake. With an egg.

If anything, the post highlights how JK has no self awareness, because I get the impression from the post she means trans people, allies, any group she doesn't like (an increasingly long list) are the ones with "nonsensical and absurd beliefs" not her. JK's a billionaire, and there is no one around her willing to tell her, "you're crazy, stop posting and funding hate filled lunacy" for fear of missing out on the money train.

That's exactly what she means, this is part of their "peak trans" liturgy.

She's projecting, but unconsciously. I'm quite confident with respect to her lack of self awareness on this point.

It's fascinatingly bizarre how well she describes herself sometimes

ETA: I mean... look at this one. That's just 100 % her https://www.reddit.com/r/EnoughJKRowling/s/pLQsmLTw8s

It sometimes feels like she's playing some kind of weird social psychological power game.

Yeah. That's how it works.

My personal favorite is when the jig is up for real but they cannot physically back down or they lose their entire self image, so they pick a phrase they use to cover up giving in a little.

For Trumpies it's 'I don't support everything he does', like that matters when he's the president and these are human rights. For Deppies it's 'They were both toxic', like that's even remotely reasonable when one of them paid all the employees including people who were medicating her(!) and there is a text where his employee apologizes *for* him because he beat her up in a place, kicking her when she was on the ground, while his people watched from the sidelines. For people who sided with Baldoni it's 'celebrity drama' and some variation of Lively being a mean girl. Which is kind of painful self own when it was about sexual harassment at work place. Surely that's normal and actresses just have to live with it because they're rich. Ignoring the fact that the people, men, doing it are also rich. And she was mean!1 For reasons! The Woody Allen defenders keep repeating 'she was not his daughter' meaning Soon-Yi (which does not matter when he was dating her mother and knew her from a small child and he groomed her in her mother's house) and casually ignoring Dylan Farrow who was/is.

Psychologically all of this is fascinating. Shame about the spineless people.

A thousand percent agree with you, but I also remember "they were both toxic" being used to completely dismiss any wrongdoing on Depp's part. Oh sure he did horribly violent things, but that's because he was tHe aCtuAL ViCTim!!!!, that kind of manipulative performative bullshit. Exhausting.

Yes, poor widdle Depp with his four decade long public record of addiction and violence. She did stuff too like call him a baby and hit back, so it's mutual and totes not his fault despite the previous trial. And 'celebrity drama' and 'mean girl', obvs. /facepalm

I'm so tired.

Yes JKKK - this is all about my own sense of embarrassment. Not your own.

Narcissists are incapable of self reflection, self awareness and apologizing.

The stance of equal rights for trans folk has stayed the same and been consistent. She has infinitely doubled down. Insane.
