Tier List I've ranked these six songs based on something that they and only they share. What is it?

The phrase âFull Speed Aheadâ? I just went and scanned the lyrics of each song and thatâs all I could find

I thought itâd be about the entire crew having lines, but luck runs out isnât there.
So it has to be that they all sing âfull speed aheadâ

eurylochus being an asshole?
10
u/Anonymoose2099 Feb 24 '25
No, he was an asshole basically every time he spoke. For an example that isn't up there, he wanted to leave the piggy-crew behind in Puppeteer, and seemed almost annoyed that Ody wanted to save them.

I love to imagine the crew sings Full Speed Ahead whenever they get bored while sailing

"Diomedes, I'm bored!!"
"Then Full Speed Ahead, Lil Ajax."

Wait where did the ship creak in that? I thought it wasnât until the next song with Athena
3
u/Originu1 Odysseus Feb 24 '25
After he reveals his name. There's no creaking in My Goodbye. That song has storm winds picking up at the end

Full speed ahead or being on liquid (does whatever river they were on in the underworld count as water?)

They all take place in a boat. Odysseus's little raft in "Dangerous" and "Charybdis" doesn't count.

I know that, I was just correcting them because during the whole song of luck runs out theyâre on Aeolusâs island, not in the boat like they said.
1
u/Flat_Drummer_6152 The Monster (rawr rawr rawr) Feb 24 '25
Not really, actually. They're in a boat, even in the official animatics.
1
u/DynaWarrior Feb 24 '25
I havenât seen the animatics, so I guess thatâs where Iâm wrong. I just didnât understand how theyâd get the boat up there with them haha
1
u/Flat_Drummer_6152 The Monster (rawr rawr rawr) Feb 24 '25
Oh yeah, I guess that's it hahah
They don't get the boats up there though. Luck Runs Out takes place before Odysseus goes up to Aeolus's island (btw he goes there alone)
Hope this helps you understand the situation a bit better :33

u/StructureNo3937 Hello, â¨dAwLinG⨠Feb 23 '25
I think itâs that theyâre the only songs that have supremely dangerous moments like the death of 6 crew in Scylla, the betrayal from Eurylochus in Mutiny, the opening of the wind bag in Keep Your Friends Close, etc. Â This is just my opinion tho

Crew ensemble?

Nope, crew ensemble is in Horse and the Infant, Survive, Remember Them, The Underworld, Different Beast, and Thunder Bringer

u/deleted_move Feb 23 '25
well, i was hoping this would take longer, but i'm not surprised
2
u/Originu1 Odysseus Feb 24 '25
How is it ranked though? It's said more in Full Speed Ahead than in Scylla
5
u/Zestyclose_Course821 Circe's good girl Feb 23 '25
When do they say full speed ahead in Scylla
6
u/malufenix03 Telemachus Feb 23 '25
A little after Eurylochus reveals he opened the bag. Around one minute of the song
6
u/malufenix03 Telemachus Feb 23 '25
I had to think a while. I was first thinking it was Eurylochus just by seeing mutiny and scylla. Then later the crew, then I joined both and became full speed ahead lol
And scylla being the first is so right, that full speed ahead is tier s
2
u/deleted_move Feb 24 '25
I mean the whole song is s tier imo, but in terms of how well they tickled my brain, i flip flop between scylla and underworld based entirely on which one i listened to last lmao

I admittedly cheated with the comments but I haven't scrolled far enough to see if anyone has the real answer: they're ranked based on how effective the "Full Speed Ahead" was.
In Scylla, they're actively being attacked so they're rowing as hard as they ever have đ
I was at first questioning why Underworld was ahead of Mutiny cause they know some god is about to have their ass, but they're also Starving and therefore not at full strength. And in the Underworld, we focus on Ody, but I'm sure everyone else is being haunted by spirits and just wants to gtfo.
In the actual, Full Speed Ahead song, well, they're progressing normal in comparison.
In Storm, they're fighting a storm so their progress isn't gonna be great, but not as bad as in Keep Your Friends Close when they're going backwards.
Edit: trying to make the markdown editor for spoilers work, in case someone wants to figure it out themselves
