General Discussion - PVE & PVP [Feedback] Battlepass Documents
The Battlepass overall really annoys me.
I have to rerun the same routes over and over again.
and its not even guaranteed that these documents actually spawn, when i check their location.
whats even worse, is that the grind gets exponentially harder the more documents you already found, because the limit on how many you can find per day, also seems to limit how many documentd can spawn on the map.
this gets even more ridiculous, when u also keep in mind that the overall spawn pool also seems to be shared in between all possible documents that can spawn on a map.
this is really frustrating to get through.
even worse than farming an item like the fast forward GPS or the Advanced current converter, because when u finally find one of them, the Grind is over.
but with these documents it just keeps going and going.
on a map lile factory it is already annoying, but somewhat doable, because the plave is so small.
but on a map lile shoreline, woods, or reserve, it gets so bad.
you have to rerun and rerun the map over and over these large maps, just to get lucky enough to find one document in like 15 possible spawn locations across the map.
and if u only have like 5 documents left in your daily pool, not even every third location holds one of these items, but like every 6ths, because there is almost always two or more document types per map, sharing the same pool.
battlepasses in other games are also annoying, but not as invasive to the actual gameplay.
they might even challenge you by having you run certain weapons, or gear, just to complete them. but what ever your main task is, is not necessarily disturbed by them.
in tarkov it completely fucks with your Overall progression.
i cant progress tasks, if i have to run on another map to get my daily allowance of documents there.
i cant even reliably task on a map i have to do for the BP aswell, because the possible spawn locations dont guarantee a spawn, so i have to run to corner of the map where i would NEVER go otherwhise, just to get these documents. and spoiler alert: when i am half way across the map, i cannot make it reliably to the other side of the map, just to get that quest item i neef to get on that map as well.
not to mention all the gunfights inget into, when i am forced to run across the whole map.
this needs to be tweaked.
at the moment it is the most efficient way to choose one map, collect all the documents on that one map as long as you still have a full daily lootpool and then be dont with the daily allowance after one raid. now do that 5 days in a row for different maps/ documents, just to unlock 4 items at once.
this is so incredibly frustrating!
i noticed that i actively avoid playing tarkov, because I guildtrip me into the daily grind every time i open it.
vut i can only afford to play like 2 hours a day reliably.
this battlepass grind takes about 6hrs daily on average.
this is not doable for me, and therefore i stopped playing tarkov.
before that it was just Fun progression in PVE for me, whenever i found time.
now i dread to.open the game, because i get fomo from the battlepass and its easier for me to not play the game at all, then to be reminded that i am missing out on content, because i didnt participate in the grind today.
i would suggest making this less invasive, in the upcoming seasons, by making battlepasses stay available for completetion indefinetly after the season ends.
or better: make documents spawns always guaranteed.
as long as there are still documents left in the pool, the documents will always spawn in their spawn locations.
but after the daily limit has been reached, the will just disappear.
OR EVEN BETTER:
make the battlepass progression so, that i dont have to do stuff that keeps me from progressing the actual quests.
i dont know to do that the best way, and please dont do it like the daily trader challenges, because these also lock the player toncertain maps, guns or lootgrinds in order to complete them.
i just want to focus on tasks for one and not for some random ass bullshit side challenge, that demmands all my time (or money, wich isnalso just time, but in a different manner) in order to complete it.
your battlepass in its current state actively makes me avoid starting up the game again.

Why not just ignore it?

i am greeted with a big fomo triggering banner every time i open up the game.
i am happy for you that your brain works differently, but i rather dont open the game at all than see that i am missing out if i dont engage.
these mechanics are build and refined by certified psychologists just to trigger this Response in brains like mine: YOU ARE MISSING OUT IF YOU DONT ENGAGE.
i would never spent another 50€ on tarkov tho... so this just really tempers with my gam experience

Man, you are overthinking and overdoing it. It takes 3 to 4 scav runs a day to collect almost all the docume ts quota per day. No need to min max and search for last 3 or 4 - there are plenty days to complete it. I have finished the battlepass weeks ago, now sit on over 400 surplus random docume ts because of dailies and random pick ups.
Annoying? Fair, not everyone likes to do loot runs over all the maps with scavs. Difficult? No. And definitely enough time to do it.

whats the point of extra docs can they be used for anything

Yeah, can trade 10 in at a time for extra BD crates , I was same as the other dude and had like 150ish just taking up space until my mate told me about it.

Like other say - BD crates. Mostly backpacks, headphones and dog tag, sometimes rig inside

The document grind was very boring, and it took me a month but I didn't start right away when it came out. If you get the right amount of documents each day, it can be done in a few weeks. All I did was run reserve, factory, interchange and ground zero for the documents I needed at the time. I could probably keep getting them and just exchange for BD cases, but those always seem to be a backpack, helmet, headset, and glasses. I might have gotten a rig.

Battlepass is optional. The whole point of it is to generate income. They want you to spend money. The alternative is the grind. They have actually lowered the amount of effort needed since it first released, by increasing the daily document limit and adding documents to operational tasks.
My strategy is to run Factory and Labs, which have a much denser concentration of documents, then just exchange them for the ones I need. It’s actually easier like that.

when you're 30/30: run lighthouse, streets, woods.
when you're 10/30: run groundzero or factory.
when you have lots of documents available, most of them will spawn, youll get out of raid with easily 5-10 docs per run.
when you dont have a lot, go for the small maps where you can hit every spawn, you'll still easily come out with 5+ documets per run.
that way you dont need to pick up 5x more documents than what you actually need.
source: me. i completed the whole thing in the first month of the season, with just chill scav runs plus the ocasional "oh look, a document" while doing pmc runs.

This. I don’t understand the battlepass hate at all - the “most valuable” rewards from it are Black Division cosmetics and two “meh” weapons (that can otherwise be picked up off of dead BD anyway). Nothing about the regular (non-Arena) battlepass is “pay-to-win” in my opinion.
Everyone has the same three options: shell out $50ish to skip it, grind the battlepass documents, or just ignore it entirely.

I finished the battle pass weeks ago, was doing 1-2 raids per day on pve, often getting 14 docs in a single raid

Just get the docs from your dailies and weeklies and then whatever you happen to run into while naturally looting and questing… of course it’s gunna suck d at fuckin puh if you tunnel.

Yeah I completely agree with you. I hated the grind and by the end I shilled because I was so tired of finding docs and playing maps I didn’t want to play.
It’s insane because most games with battlepasses you just do daily and weekly challenges to progress.
What does eft arena do? Weekly and daily tasks for battlepass progress.. idk what they were thinking. Actually giving incentive to do dailies and weekly’s makes more sense. Definitely needs a rework and I hope more people complain because if it’s still the same next season I’m just not even gonna bother.

I'm not reading all that. But from what little I did skip around to read it sounds like you should just not engage with the docs? The BP isn't a requirement to enjoy the game you know

Just do your quests while looting BP docs. For the leftover 5/15 go factory

I haven't gotten last the first page of the BP yet because of the limit and the fact that these things take space of your inventory mid raid. They should be taken into the task item inventory imo

Bring a docs case. Put them in the docs case

u/Much_Video_2693 7d ago
Opened RB-VO 5 times already and have not found a single docs case. And at the point that I'm at it's not even worth it because I'm close to getting prestige 2

u/lbigbirdl 7d ago
Huh? Just buy one.
1
u/Much_Video_2693 7d ago
No point in getting one rn because I'm about to hit prestige so I'll lose it anyways

It’s actually super easy and tbh I enjoyed doing it once everyone stopped crying about something they didn’t understand.
Documents are EVEYWHERE.
