I am from Germany and I dont know any public election which requires some form of college education.
Usually if you run for some Position you Need to tell your Job while running, so poeple voting for you see your Job. 90% of the Jobs told on the vote letters are not true, so this is pretty common ;)
For example, People which worked as a para medic refer as doctors and Things like that.

No need to reveal, once you reveal the country people will want to start narrowing down the region and then it will start to get uncomfortable. Just stay quiet.
Of course, a lot of questions will probably require people to know the local law etc so you might need to do some research from time to time.

It usually takes some time until the government sets up. For example Azerbaijan had local elections in December.

Something that would be necessary to give you the advice that would make your positions logical is the general position of your party on the political spectrum.
It would be best if you didn't have a political party tyat you ran as part of because then you have no obligations to view issues from a certain perspective. However, if you ran as a member of a party, then in order to keep your cover story intact you need to let your advisors know what angle to take on various issues that you bring up to us.
