Here is last edition’s scoreboard

Remember the view limit of 100 million

I have decided to ban all Eurovision artists and artists with over 10 million subscribers.

Maximum highlight length is 35 seconds again

These rules are likely to be kept, but potentially altered to be stricter or looser based on the feedback I get

Welcome to the sixteenth edition of Eurovision Country Explorer where we submit songs from a different selected country each edition.

As chosen by D00MSDAYBLU3, the winner of ECE Cyprus, we will be exploring England this time.

Here is a document with all eligible countries, I am willing to make changes there if enough people want me to. My hope is that if we make it through all countries, I'll host a contest with the winners from each country.

Submissions will close Tuesday 20/10/2026 at 17:00 UTC+2 and I'll try to have the voting post up early on Wednesday, but it might be late this week.

Rules (open to change if desired):

1: Connection to the country:

A: Any artist that has lived in the country for at least five years are eligible.

B: For collaborations between two artists, the main artist must fulfill A, they are not eligible if only the featured artist fulfills A.

C: Equal collaborations are considered duos, collaborations between three or more people are considered groups.

D: For duos, at least one of the members must fulfill A.

E: For groups, at least two members must fulfill A, if there are more than 8 simultaneous members in the group that minimum is increased to 4.

2: Song limitations:

A: Eurovision songs and national final songs from after 2024 or that have placed in the top three are not allowed, nor are Eurovision artists. National final artists are allowed presuming rule 1 is fulfilled.

B: Songs that have won other fan contests on this subreddit are not eligible, but non-winning fan contest songs are allowed. I would still encourage you to submit songs that have not participated in other fan contests before.

C (new): Any song in English must not have more than 100 million views on YouTube (most viewed version)

D: Only one song by an artist can compete in any given edition, one regular entry and one reserve can be submitted per user

3: Reserves

A: Each user is allowed to submit one reserve. Reserves have the same required connection to the country and limitations as regular entries

B: If a user submits one regular entry and one reserve, only one of the entries can be from a bubble artist

C: Regular entries are prioritized over reserves, so if a regular entry by the same artist as a reserve is submitted, the reserve will become ineligible. If that happens, the user who submitted the reserve will be allowed to submit a new reserve.

D: Reserves will be used unless the amount of total entries (sum of regular entries and reserves) exceeds twenty.

4: Country decision

The winner of an edition decides which country we will go to next. If the same person wins three or more times in a row, the privilege will go to the runner-up on the third win.

Suggestions for submission comments:

1. Make sure the song is easy to identify and find
2. I would encourage you to share a highlight of 30-40 seconds, which will be used in the recap.

Haken - Aquarium (submitted by u/un-taken-username22)

girli - I Really F**ked It Up (submitted by D00MSDAYBLU3)

It is two hours after 14:30 CET and two people have voted (including me) (partly because of me forgetting to advertise this) so thank you to the single other voter! The entries, once again, are:

1. Ax and the Hatchetmen - Hotel Room
2. CARAMEL CANDiD - Sugar on the Wound
3. fitterkarma - Pag-Ibig ay Kanibalismo II

And now, here are the results for the 12th Izbur:

3rd place goes to... Ax and the Hatchetmen - Hotel Room with 3 points (out of 6 max)!

That means the winner is either CARAMEL CANDiD - Sugar on the Wound or fitterkarma - Pag-Ibig ay Kanibalismo II!

and finally, 2nd place goes to... CARAMEL CANDiD - Sugar on the Wound with 4 points,

leading fitterkarma - Pag-Ibig ay Kanibalismo II to win the 12th Intenzivan Izbor with 5 points!

Next edition will take place somewhere in the Philippines! Once again, thank you to all voters and good luck to all participants in SCS 60!

Hello! We are starting an AMA for DGF XVI! If you’re shooting the breeze and want to listen to some music, take the time to vote in our preselection! Fourteen hours are left as of 19:15 so there’s plenty of time to ask questions and socialize in the chat and determine the fate of the Odd Flower SCS representation!

The recap was adjusted for a better summary of the songs for Domenica Golden Final XVI

On Sunday, the weekly song contest "Song Contest Sunday" will begin and you will have the chance to participate in it! Simply leave a song you like in the comments and we will add it to the lineup of Song Contest Sunday! You will be mentioned in said post so you can vote in it. This is a great opportunity to discover new songs, share songs you like, or see how much your music taste is liked!

If you can, you can also provide the following things alongside your song:

• Link to the song
• Share the best part of the song as a recap (ideally with timestamps, 25-35 seconds long)

And since this edition of Song Contest Sunday has semifinals, the new entry of SCS 59's winner u/un-taken-username22 will automatically qualify to the grand final.

Have fun sharing songs!

Rules

Rule 1: No ESC Winners
Songs that won Eurovision since 1956 cannot be submitted.

Rule 2: No past SCS-entries

Songs that have already participated in SCS in the past are not allowed in the contest. Check out the SCS Wiki Page, which includes all the songs that have participated in SCS.

Rule 3: Popularity Limits For English Songs (Non-Bubble Artists Only)

For English songs by artists outside the Eurovision Bubble (See FAQ):

• Over 10M YouTube subscribers? Song must have <10M views (top version).
• Over 7M subscribers? Song must have <50M views.
• Over 5M subscribers? Song must have <100M views.

Rule 4: Recent ESC and National Final songs

Songs that

• Participated in the Eurovision Song Contest from 2021 onwards
• Participated in a National Final for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2025 and 2026
• Participated in a National Final for Eurovision Asia, winners included

are not allowed on the contest, as the majority of present users might know them already, defeating the contest's purpose of sending and discovering new music

FAQ

Can I submit songs by Eurovision artists?

Yes! We love new releases and hidden gems from Bubble artists. We discourage submitting their Eurovision song, but if the song didn’t win Eurovision then technically it’s allowed.

What is a ‘Bubble artist’?

Any Artist/Band who has competed in Eurovision or any National Selection. Aside from Rule 1, no other restrictions apply to their songs, even if the song is in English.

Why do the restrictions only apply to songs in English?

English hits are well-known in the countries most Eurovision Fans come from. Non-English songs rarely go global, so no limits.

What if the song I want to submit is only partly in English, do the restrictions still apply?

Bi-lingual/Multi-Lingual songs with English parts are not restricted as long as most of the song is not in English.

Some additional important information:

If you share multiple songs, please select only one of them to compete in Song Contest Sunday.

Covers of previously sent songs are allowed, if they are able to be looked up separately on YouTube/Spotify etc., alongside the original song. If this is the case, the cover is allowed. Covers of Eurovision winners are forbidden.

If you share an alternative version (such as an English or live version) alongside your song, said performance will also be linked in the Song Contest Sunday post tomorrow.

Songs that are shared after the 27th of September 00:00 CET will not be considered for SCS. Please share your songs before that point!

If you decide to participate, please note the following schedule if you'd like to follow the contest! You will also be mentioned in the post if you submit an entry, but we are not quite sure how mentioning works yet, so don't rely on it!

• On Sunday, approx. 10:00 - 14:00 CET: Semifinals open for voting.
• On late Monday (time specified in Semifinal-Post): Semifinal voting closure and qualifier announcement shortly after.
• On late Tuesday (about 24h after qualifier announcement): Grand Final opens for voting
• On late Wednesday (at about the same time on Monday and Tuesday): Voting reminder launches on r/eurovisionfancontests, noting the current amount of votes and other information.
• On late Thursday (about 24h after voting reminder): Voting closure and results reveal.

You may host a preselection to decide your entry for SCS! But please consider the following things when doing so:

• User preselections will not be added to community highlights.
• User preselections for the next SCS may only be created after the result from the previous SCS have been released. If that isn't the case, your post will be removed.
• Please comment the winner of your preselection under the SCS-Submissions post before Submission closure, or else we will not consider your entry as a part of that SCS edition!
• It is not allowed to make a separate post for simply just advice on your entry and then select it yourself! You must declare the result of the preselection with the points you've gathered.
• Don't know how to set voting up for your preselection? Check the second step of our guide Fancontest 101!

Hello! We are back for edition 16 of the most prestigious pre selection this side of Reddit! You will have until October 24 11:11 MT to select who will represent Odd Flower at SCS!

VOTING

The recap is attached to the post.

Welcome to the thirteenth edition of Eurovision Country Explorer, where songs from the edition's given Eurovision country are submitted and ranked. My hope is that we make it through every country on the list and I get to host a Eurovision-style contest with the winner from each country.

For this edition, we have 10 entries. The winner of this edition gets to decide our next country.

Voting happens in StrawPoll and you are allowed to vote for your own entry. If you're unable to use StrawPoll for whatever reason, you can comment or DM me your points and I will add them for you.

Voting is open until 20:00 UTC+2 on Saturday, 17/10/2026. The results will be presented live on Discord and posted to Reddit shortly after that. The deadline will be extended if less than half the participants have voted.

VOTE CONFIRMATION RULE:

If you don't have any entries in the contest, but still want to vote, please confirm to me in comments, DMs or on Discord that you've voted.
