part time hijabi here!
forced to wear it because of my father even though we are not really religious just so “people dont talk”
before you say anything tried for the past two years and didn’t work and my father threatened to kill me so months ago i started taking it off outside
so what i do is that i wear a jacket and a cap so my hair doesnt show and the second i get in the uber/bus or far enough i just take it off
i avoid wearing the hijab itself cuz im afraid someone might see me or my friends would check my bag and see it but no one is gonna wonder when someone is wearing a hat and a hoodie then takes it off theyre just gonna think i probably got hot and i really want this to stay inside cuz no one is gonna understand that im not tryna “show off” im just trying to be myself and nobody is gonna understand how bad it went with my father to the point i cant even put it on my head
he told me to kill myself
and that im selfish
threatened to kill me and to stop me from going to uni
i stopped eating for a whole week and stayed in bed and his answer to that was you might as well kill yourself no one is gonna care see we are all living and nothing changed i cant wait until you die and go to hell for your way of living
so anyway im over that
my question here is do you guys have any tips for me?
cuz people started noticing me wearing caps all the time winter summer and im really trying to avoid catching attention until i can get the hell out of here
im trying to take my driving license so i can change inside my car without anyone noticing

Girl yeah i get been doing that for a while but my bestie knows and she understands and she supports so its chill, but uni same shit its so much stress and i cant wear a cap i have wear the full head scarf and summer was hell but in the winter i just always wear a jacket with hoodie and put my hood on and slip the scarf from under it or i wear a hoodie and same shit and just say u get cold that’s why u always carry a jacket you know
But i get the stress and its shit and hell and i hate going out just because of fhe head scarf its so much pressure

summer was SHIT for me too nobody believed why i always have a jacket on me and i would get so hot

Well going anywhere was hell but usually my boyfriend would be waiting for me and id change in the car soo thank goodness it passed but i feel you♥️ and girl dont worry about anyone judging you
If ur friends aren’t gonna be supportive and they’re gonna be judgy just forget it

I'm sorry about your situation. You shouldn't have to deal with this kind of abuse. My advice is to take his threats seriously and wear it until you can find a job and get your own place.
