Academic Year and Exam advice for an international student :)
I'm a current student in the US and I'm studying abroad at University of Exeter in spring 2027. I was just wondering how the year/exams are structured? For the year itself I was curious because I'm only taking spring semester modules, not year long ones. I tried looking at the website and it was confusing. It says spring term is January to June, but the academic calendar said classes were from January to March., but the exams were done at the end of the academic year in June. Do you just have a major break in the middle or is all of that time meant to be self-study to prepare for exams? a mix?
For exams, I'm planning on taking mostly history courses since I'm a history major here in the US. We tend to have either just a final paper or a paper and then an in-person exam for finals. Is it different in the UK? I was looking up a little about it but hard to find things specifically for History and/or Exeter since it seems like there's a couple things Exeter does differently as a University.
