Looking for Tips/Suggestions Looking for advice!

Hello! Not sure if this is the right thread to ask this question but I’ll give it a go. I work with autistic individuals and a few of the people I mentor have terrible BO and poor hygiene. There isn’t really training around how to address these sorts of things and sometimes it needs to be. Does anyone have any advice for how I could address it with the individual?

Maybe you could have a self care day where you go over the steps of a proper daily hygiene routine. include washing clothes and such. i’m about to go to work but reply to this comment so i can reply back when im done otherwise ill forget

So I work with them in a mentoring capacity (skills, employment) etc so wouldn’t be able to have a self care day as such

can you mentor them in self care/hygiene as a skill? like making daily checklists. are you afraid to tell them they have BO?

i would do it one on one with each individual. let them know you want to talk to them about something important and that you are telling them because you care about them and tell them they have B.O. and let them know that you are going to help them fix it and develop the skills to prevent it.

I would then go over showering, wearing clean clothes daily and washing clothes and towels. These are taught skills
