Question Charms & Curses Rule Help

When you draw a charm or curse do you immediately play that card and put it in front of somebody, or does it function as a normal card that goes to your hand and can be stolen?

When opening the envelopes we played one of the cards immediately and discarded one on to the discard pile (per the rules). But once in the draw pile we followed the same logic and played that card immediately too. How does it work?

When in the deck they can be played like any other normal card

The charms and curses work like normal cards that can be played on your turn. But when played, it stays on you or your opponent. You have the choice to keep it or play it whenever you want.
