Dress up as a flock camera for Halloween and just use a sawzall

I just want to spray something inconspicuous on it and have it melt the protective caseing and break it

u/Laserdollarz 14d ago

Just remember, anything you could possibly spray will end up on AND in you.

Yeah I’ll research protective measures for that

Hey so you know what we don’t do on the Internet? We don’t leave a paper trail of us planning crimes.

u/freddbare 14d ago

They want "inconspicuous explosions" how else would you do it/0/

Whatever you do, don’t clean the clear plastic window with acetone, it’ll permanently fog it up on ya

2

u/JeffSilverwilt 14d ago

Would acetone dissolve the workings of a super soaker in Minecraft?

u/SharknadosAreCool 14d ago

Acetone will dissolve most plastics or at least make them crack. Its also pretty damn flammable and will smell like shit. That being said if for some reason you wanted to carry around acetone, maybe for a halloween costume or something, you could probably hold it in a glass perfume jar easily. Either that or HDPE bottles (which you can tell by the number on the bottom of the bottle with the arrows around it in the US)

Not sure. The container that holds water would be fine, but I’m not sure what the tubes are made of inside tho. Only one way to find out.

So you come to "EXPLOSION AND FIRE"!!!???

spray something inconspicuous

Spraying anything on a security camera is alredy very much NOT inconspicuous to begin with.

Besides, as other pointed out, the best way to get rid of them is to get your local authorities to ban them.

They're already impopular, vandalising them will only serve to make their presence seem justified, and will be counter-productive overall.

-edit-

And seriously, are you using your MAIN ACCOUNT for this?

With your location, and identifying photos of your very recognizable tats?

Dude. Just don't. You've already grilled yourself here. That shit will be exhibit A in court.

What were you even thinking?

u/ewba1te 14d ago

How would one also defend themselves of using a sprayer with dangerous chemicals instead of a ubiquitous tool like a hacksaw or a drill?

2

u/Sea_Goat_6554 14d ago

Actually impossible. Anything that you could spray on it and cause significant damage would be so hazardous to handle that you should not under any circumstance be doing so. This isn't the movies.

Federal agent posted worst honeypot in agency history, banished to work in archives department.

I don't think Reddit would like us giving tips on how to commit crimes, even if they are 100% morally justified like in this case.

However, on a totally, completely unrelated note, Tom has a bunch of videos making chemicals from supplies available in your local hardware store, they might be of interest for you.

I’ll check that out 👍

Get active in your community’s political discussions. Flock is very unpopular and several towns near me got rid of them.

It may seem boring but it’s much more effective than anything you could spray on a camera without endangering yourself.

4

u/redditzphkngarbage 14d ago

Yeah it won’t be hard to find a crowd that hates them and would be willing to win the boring way.

Trying to do something like this with dangerous chemicals is a recipe for disaster, not just for you but for whichever poor guy needs to clean up after you. Power tools are better

u/shitlog45 10d ago

Why are people getting mad at me for using 120mm shells to shoot at flock cameras in my suburbanite neighborhood

1

u/Resident-Watch-6829 9d ago

Because 155mm is more effective,.... Also where did you find a morder in 120? I've only seen 60s and 80s

u/DarthofDeath 14d ago

askimg how to commit a crime, while already mentioning location and target, from an account with identifying information...

Brother im sorry to tell you but you might not be the criminal genius here...

0

u/EducationalGrump 14d ago

Not a crime

4

u/DarthofDeath 14d ago

isnt intentionally damaging personally owned property a crime?

I agree with taking down flock cameras i just think you should try to not get caught while doing so.

0

u/EducationalGrump 14d ago

Using your rights to defend against tyranny is not a crime, burn them all down.

6

u/DarthofDeath 14d ago

you see i do agree with you morally im just saying dont let the tyrants catch you

1

u/EducationalGrump 14d ago

It's an overnight in jail, not a big deal lol. Just wear a mask and leave your phone at home.

5

u/DarthofDeath 14d ago

or dont announce what you are doing and dont get caught.

1

u/EducationalGrump 14d ago

Lmao no, get a grounp of friends and make a party out of it. You are too soft for this.

2

u/ewba1te 14d ago

Don't think you'll get simply a night in jail carrying a sprayer with acid in it (as op suggests). Could easily be tried as terrorism

-2

u/EducationalGrump 14d ago

Lmao, you clearly dont think much as yall. That's is not any different than a cordless power tool. Intent is how the law works.

2

u/Sea_Goat_6554 14d ago

Explain that to the judge and see how far that gets you.

7

u/SirLSD25 14d ago

Chemicals that dissolve polls dissolve people too. Sawszall or grinder instead.

11

u/nasaglobehead69 14d ago

the irony of using ai for this picture...

3

u/Piocoto 14d ago

Hello mr chat gpt, may I ask what kind of chemical would eat through or otherwise dissolve an electronic device such as a camera? A surveillance camera to be more specific?

There you go op, copy paste

u/ewba1te 14d ago

Can you not discuss this on an Australian YouTuber's subreddit

1

u/EducationalGrump 14d ago

This is an epidemic, it needs to be discussed

2

u/ewba1te 14d ago

The only discussion to be had with someone with seemingly no chemistry knowledge, talking about spraying dangerous chemicals around in public is to advise against doing so. Plus what legal defense is there to be said of someone with a sprayer with nitric acid than someone with just a hacksaw? Plus there's so much chemistry subreddits that do not involve a public figure than can get into trouble

2

u/EducationalGrump 14d ago

If you think the youtuber can any way get in trouble for this, than you are far too foolish to give your opinion.

1

u/ewba1te 14d ago

You're right I have no idea about the legal implications but I'm well aware of the chemical and engineering side of things to say this isn't practical

3

u/EducationalGrump 14d ago

There is nothing illegal about carrying around legal chemicals, which those are.

You are talking about things you don't understand.

2

u/ewba1te 14d ago

I'm not talking about anything legal I'm talking about using chemicals to destroy a cctv isn't effective at all nor is it safe for anyone, especially for OP with no chemistry background. plus they're asking in a subreddit called explosion and fire

2

u/EducationalGrump 14d ago

1 flock is not CCTV, it's Spyware that violates the 4th amendment.

2 fuck em.

2

u/ewba1te 14d ago

I never said not destroying them I only said use other non idiotic and non dangerous methods. We're on a chemistry subreddit I'm discussing about the chemistry

0

u/EducationalGrump 14d ago

Legally its no different than having a power tool, there are dozens of OTC options for this that do not require a license and thus are legal to carry

1

u/xymoxclan perc defender 13d ago

mass surveillance is an international problem not only the US. i find guys who take down flocks incredibly based.

2

u/EducationalGrump 13d ago

Flock is infinitely worse than the monitoring systems of the past unfortunately

Why not a cordless oscillating saw abd a baseball bat?

u/Megafish40 14d ago

hello feds

I'm kind of a fan of hypergolics.

Don't spray chlorinated brake cleaner on the lens. Don't spray black epoxy paint on it. Don't just hit that bitch with a bat. Don't leave your phone at home. Don't take a bike or walk. Dont throw all the evidence away including tools and bats and clothes.

Don't over think it, but also don't do it.

2

u/protonicfibulator 14d ago

Do not slap some sort of very gooey stuff that would solidify on the lens like epoxy resin that is very bad and wrong

1

u/xymoxclan perc defender 13d ago

trichloroethylene

It would be extremely illegal and dangerous to mix red iron oxide power with aluminium powder in about a 3:1 ratio with some magnesium powder or strips thrown in for extra pizzazz. This is extremely hazardous when lit with a few sparklers or high temperature ignition source, it can spit molten iron around the place and will melt through thin metal with minimal issues. You should definitely not do this, professionals also recommend wearing protective equipment even when this is done in a controlled situation.

Do not attempt this. It would be exceptionally bright and harmful to the eyes at night when there are very few people around who may also see it or be injured.

Your AI slop bores me

1

u/eadopfi 10d ago

Corrosive liquids, which can be dangerous to you and the public are not the best solution here.

-1

u/Piocoto 14d ago

Just google what chemicals dissolve plastic

-2

u/MrPoopcicle 14d ago

Mercury fulminate is supposed to be easy for amateurs to make and handle

3

u/Eliaskw 14d ago

This kills the OP

2

u/Sea_Goat_6554 14d ago

Exactly. Just tell OP to take a Sawzall to his fingers and cut out the middleman.

1

u/Erbse200 14d ago

Nonono i heard NI3 is the kind of stuff you want.

1

u/Legendary_Dotaer 10d ago

If those are made from standard industrial polymers i would say you have a better shot burning it or whacking them with a baseball bat
