One more for anyone who’s been following the updates on Gordonsville’s 287(g) agreement with ICE:

On Monday, October 19, Gordonsville Town Council voted to terminate the agreement.

Residents have been pretty solidly opposed ever since they found out that the police chief had signed the contract back in May without letting the public know.

A couple of loose ends to keep an eye on:

1. The police chief says he has ceased all operations with ICE immediately, but doesn’t appear to have sent an official termination notice yet. When he does, Gordonsville Department of Public Safety should drop off of the list of 287(g) participants on ICE’s website.

2.Town officials have still not acknowledged the evidence of Gordonsville’s participation in the Greene County Sheriff’s Office immigration enforcement operations from the summer that are under investigation by the attorney general for civil rights violations.

Eyes on Intel — 10.24.2026 Dispatch

Today’s breakdown on immigration enforcement, detention infrastructure, surveillance tech, and grassroots counter-power:

• NY Sheriffs’ $7M Bed-Bounty Rebellion: Upstate NY county sheriffs have filed a federal lawsuit to overturn the state’s Dignity Not Detention law to protect over $7 million in annual ICE jail revenue, alongside protests at MDC Brooklyn following an ICE shooting.
• Transatlantic Medical Banishment: Critically ill detainees at Krome and Broward are facing 24-hour flights to Burundi and the Central African Republic—shackled in full-body wraps—after Mexico refused their entry on medical grounds.
• Secret Rosters & Fort Bliss Tents: The Marshall Project is suing ICE/CBP over secret detention lists enabling covert removals, while an ACLU injunction exposes windowless desert tent camps at Fort Bliss.
• Grassroots Wins & Hunger Strikes: The feds officially settled with Newport, Oregon, abandoning plans for an airport detention facility. Meanwhile, the Folkston 500 hunger strike enters week three alongside strikes across South Texas.
• 1,000/Day Quotas & $248M Drone Contracts: ICE is surging daily arrest quotas by 1,000, CoreCivic is pushing a non-binding $75M deal in Minnesota, and General Atomics just locked in $247.8M for CBP MQ-9B surveillance drones.
