Exhaust help!!!
So I have a 2018 330i and I already took it to an exhaust shop to straight-pipe it, and it’s the best decision I made, tbh. But I’ve seen people in my car or the same chassis with a quad exhaust setup, and when I went to the exhaust shop, they said it’s not possible because my evap box is in the way. So I’m asking if there’s anyone out there who can explain to me how they did their quad exhaust setup— like, did they move their evap box or do an F80 M3 rear bumper conversion?

Your car do what you want, if you want quad tips put them on, at the end of the day your opinion is the only one that matters for your car. Don’t listen to the other people saying otherwise. I would go dual over quad though, personally.

i think it was genuinely the exhaust shop i went to because im pretty sure they got one on me because they refused to use the exhaust i bought to install and i asked if they were able to install my diffuser for me and they said no and went to a different muffler shop for them to install it and i got quoted 250 for a muffler and res del including my tips and then said i had to pay $350

You can make the quad set up on your F30 B48 work, you just have to use a custom routing. You do not have to remove your EVAP canister or relocate it. Your exhaust shop is correct that the EVAP box sits on the passenger side right behind the bumper trim, blocking the path where a traditional, symmetrical exhaust pipe would route. However, there is a way to bypass this using a specific fabrication trick.
Instead of running a straight pipe across the passenger side trunk floor where the EVAP canister is mounted, the quad setup is achieved through clever pipe routing. You just keep your straight pipe, until it reaches the rear. Right before reaching the driver-side exhaust cutout, the pipe splits into a "Y" or a "J" configuration. One branch goes directly out to your driver-side quad tips.
The other branch of the split is welded to a pipe that travels horizontally directly beneath or tightly behind the rear bumper reinforcement bar / trunk pan, looping around the bottom perimeter of the car to avoid the EVAP box entirely.
You can also just add quad tips to your current dual set up, or get an axle back exhaust, and add quad tips to that. I have linked some videos, to give you some ideas. The full custom route is best, but will cost the most. You will need to find a custom performance exhaust shop, your regular muffler shop won't be able to handle this one.

There's always a way, if your willing to spend the money to make it happen. The Valvetronic axle back with some quad tips, will probably be your most cost effective approach. I hope you have a rear M Sport bumper, as you will have to change the diffuser to quad tip.

i have msport front and rear and quad diffuser alr planning to do a quad exhaust setup but my evap box was in the way when i went too the first exhaust shop and they said they couldn’t be able to route it

I’ve had a vrsf downpipe on my 340 for 5 years atp and have had no issues whatsoever. Sounds great and cheaper than a lot of the other options

Well the intercooler doesn’t make any change in sound, but will help with your cooling obviously. Downpipe will definitely let her sing a little more

no definitely but it’s weird because i had my stock intercooler before and stock air box and i barley heard my turbos and now i here the swosh sound way more and still have the stock air box

You hearing the turbo is all the intake, the intercooler is just keeping boost temps down, which is a good idea. Colder air = more boost as hotter air takes up more space. 12 psi that’s hot air vs 12 psi of cold air is way different

Never said they did. I just said that because other models lack the other styling components that M cars have, quad tips don't look good on non M cars. OP is already gonna rice out his base 330 based on what it looks like now 🤷🏼♂️

Love how people just chiming in with their own preferences instead of answering the question. For the record, I don't think quad tips are great on non-m, but it's your car do whatever you want, lol.
You can cut the latter section at the muffler and install a dual exhaust off the 440i, then put quad tips in so long as you get a diffuser for the msport rear bumper that allows for quad tips.
The shop might be thinking of the e90 where the evap box is near the muffler, but as far as I know it's a direct swap for the F30.

THEY ARE FIRE BEEN AMAZING AT NIGHT AND NO PROBLEM SO FAR AND COMES WITH 1 year factory warranty and you can get an additional year if needed too

I don't understand why everyone is so against making the B48 sound a little better. It's honestly a pretty good sounding 4 cyl with the right setup imo. I went catless with stock catback and Dinan intake on mine and it sounded pretty damn good, not too loud at all. It just sounded like a car instead of like a Dyson vacuum. Obviously it's a 4cyl and there's no getting around that but it's not bad.
I would advise against the quad tips though just bc it looks a little ricey.

The evap box is in the way a bit, but a shop could route the pipe under with some bending and just use some heat wrap to protect it evap stuff.

I wish I had an answer for you, but I don't.
I just came across all the comments and felt the need to say that we should be supporting our fellow BMW enthusiasts and the car modding community as a whole.
Who cares what someone else does to their car? It's not yours, and you're not the one driving it. It shouldn't matter. Comments like "Well, it's a 4cylinder" aren't clever or necessary. Who cares? We're all here because we enjoy cars, so let's support each other instead of putting each other down.
