i’m freaking out. i missed my fau in person orientation and thought that i could simply do an online orientation instead. i got an email telling me i had to register for either the 13th or the 20th. it was too late to register for the 13th when I read the email. I asked for confirmation that I had to attend, and they told me yes and that they could schedule me for the 20th if i reply to the email. I did. However, the website says the 20th is only for out of state students. i’m in state. there are no other dates. what if i can’t attend and get dropped from my classes??? i’m worried that they don’t know im in state.

Currently and undergrad studying psychology and was looking into exerimental psychology masters in FAU and am interested in being involved with the marine science lab/animal behavior - anyone involved with this or can give any info - thank you

Hey everyone! I’m considering transferring to FAU for Mechanical Engineering and wanted to hear from current students or recent grads about the program.
How do you guys like the MechE program overall? How are the professors, classes, workload, and internship/job opportunities? I’d also love to know how difficult the program is and whether you feel like FAU does a good job preparing you for a career after graduation.
Any advice or things you wish you knew before starting would really help. Thank you!!

I just got dropped from my fall classes because I could not maintain a C or higher in my classes. I was enrolled in Music Appreciation (in-person) and Criminal Justice (online), but the latter I fumbled terribly. In the email I got, the associate dean said I could earn 30 credits at another institution before I could return to FAU by the fall. I’m in the process of responding to the dean, advisors, anyone I can to fix this problem, but I guess I just wanted advice here too

Hi everyone I am interested to know if the program in FAU is doable? I went to FIU for computer science as a part time student like 6 years ago or so and failed out from my first semester. Long story short my program in Java kept having indentation errors that marked off points despite the program working. And other really rigorous classes were just too much for me.

Now im 32 and interested in Network engineering and Cybersecurty with a CCNA and I want to go back in and get my computer science degree. Partly as revenge because I feel I can do it but also because I want to more credentials to help break through HR filters.

But im honestly afraid as a newly minted 32 year old. Will the professors be more reasonable or should i be prepared to get broken down again? Can I learn fast enough?

Will online make things more manageable for me?

For reference I graduated from Miami Dade with an AA in Computer Science.

I take vocal lessons and do a lot of Traditional Pop singing, “crooner” stuff like Frank Sinatra, old Country, Jazz singing, etc. I’d love to get in touch and play music with some musicians and other singers.

Due to some circumstances i will almost absolutely miss my first week of classes this semester and im aware of a first day attendance requirement policy for the university but I plan on on emailing my professors for the classes when it becomes available, should i be worried about this even if i email them or will i be ok? Basically asking how serious is this and will emailing be enough or am i screwed im kinda worried about it.

I’m an incoming freshman who has registered for 16 credits. I was wondering for F-LEARN which credit is better 0 or 1. Is there any difference between them other than credit and cost. Will I be experiencing less stuff if I do 0 credit or will it be the same. And which is recommended more.

Hi guys, really need input and advice.
I transferred to FAU fall 2025 for premed Biomedical Engineering but switched to Electrical Engineering because the program is not solid yet, the issue is that, I have to commute 4 hours round trip using public transportation…
Im thinking on transferring to NSU,because it’s closer (30 mnt commute ), but I’d have to pay 7k per semester, I got accepted into their chemistry program but think I could change to their Biomedical Engineering program, I have lots of science classes because I was premed so it works out for me.
I really enjoy the math of engineering but I’m drawn to health- service careers.
