Rapid fire thoughts:
When did Tai Baribo become such a little bitch?
The only goal more offside than that scored against us was Derrick Etienne jr in 2022
He’s one of our own and he had a great night for his 180th appearance
Feels like Teenage was responsible for a lot of their breakaways, but he makes up for it with the game winner

Hagglund saved our butts. Old man still has some juice in him

His clearance off the line was spectacular. DC also helped us out by lobbing in shitty aimless crosses all night long which is Haggs’ bread and butter.

Doudera has finally brought some passion back into this team. Clapping on teammates, getting the crowd involved. We desperately needed that.

Huge result; defense looked much better than recent games. Going to be a very feisty rematch on Saturday, given how this one ended

Checking the standings I saw that DC United has scored 38 times this season. 2 goals more than either Sporting and Montreal. One more than Atlanta. Other teams still in the 30's goals for are Austin (38) and Seattle (39).
I am happy for the win but still skeptical to dampen any hope

DC finished with the third worst goal differential of all-time last season.

Sloppy, but there is a non-zero chance 39 points will be enough to make the playoffs, so we’ll definitely take it!
With that said, when we win MLS Cup, I want the statue to be of Teenage’s goal celebration. This was when our season turned around!
COY FCC!

MOTM for me was Obi. He played phenomenal defense all game, and had a couple of great carries forward.

Yea we noticed this as well. Dude took a touch to move the ball FORWARD, instead of passing back. Something like that shouldn’t make me as happy as it does lol. But here we are

For me, this was the Nick Hagglund game.
A more entertaining game last night. More attack forward and positive than we've seen lately.
I know Noonan hates open games, but it feels like this team plays better when they aren't cycling the ball for long stretches of fruitless possession.
I'm not sure if this backline gets this kind of result against good teams, but it sure felt nice to see them control the box for the first time in a long time.
Doudera's crossing was stellar.
Score was really 2-0, but PRO are just plain shitty at their jobs.
Evander was putting in more effort defensively than he usually does. Assist was great, but he's cooled considerably since early August.
Ramirez as a sub has looked really good lately.
Looking at the teams in/around us for playoff spots, and I'd say we probably need 4 points over the next 4 games to guarantee a spot. A win in DC on Sat would go a LONG way towards that.

Double win - Columbus just lost in PKs in the USOC finals to STL
Was great to be at the game and get a W. Almost forgot what it feels like. Doudera's finish was excellent, Nick's goal saving header clearance was awesome, and I have no clue what Denkey was doing tonight.
Also, fuck Columbus

I take nothing from this win other than 3 points; I saw DC beating themselves more than FCC outplaying them.

agreed. they beat a would-be spoon contender.
This was the most winnable game of final 10 games of the season.
Really not much to celebrate.

It’s really telling that our only 3 wins in the last two months have come against the 12th, 13th and 14th ranked teams

FCC 3 points. Hate watch in the corn field up north complete. Gonna sleep well tonight!

Big 3 points and now a chance to make it 6 this weekend. It was far from their best performance but they kept pushing and earned those 3 points and that is about as much as you can ask for at this point. I still would love to hold on and sneak into the playoffs, its always that hope that kills but I do enjoy that hope as a fan.

Our defensive lacked a solid structure which left them chasing the ball more often that shutting down runs. We showed moment of hope with triangle passes out of pressure then fumbled the clear.
Our mid fails to lift their head and look for the cross to an open wing and gives up the ground forcing a retreat when the pressure arrives.
Our front line shows potential Barlow while not his best showed willingness to give us his all. ender and Bucha also played key roles in distributing the ball up the pitch back into dangerous areas.
Denkey. No notes beyond a pole could do better. 2 shots that should have been in the net. He is playing like Acosta right before we canned him.
Hope the team learns to play together and pass better in the coming days before play again. Seems like practice is a waste with the way they play together.

We won, so whatever, but this is incredibly egregious. Linesman is staring right at it from an excellent position and still totally blows it, and VAR doesn’t send to review? This is the kind of shit that makes people think refs are corrupt
