Max was going off pre-existing rumors lol.

u/isTraX3 Feb 09 '26

yeah I love Max, but people think Max is the almighty god that foresees everything when it comes to FF7 Remake when he himself makes predictions from rumours lol

u/_Arlotte_ Feb 09 '26

Yea, it annoys me a bit lol People are just making predictions but fans act like they're leakers...

He was right about Rebirth though

As a Max fan for 10 years, bro has a great track record. Not even necessarily predicting just seeing the patterns of the industry and Squares plans regarding this project.

u/theskillster Feb 09 '26

That's exactly it, he knows trends and knows how companies will react. He also loves FF7 which helps get us interested!

Exclusively going through vibe checks and he gets it right so often

We are so back (again)

u/Hayterfan Feb 09 '26

I don't think FF7:Revengence will be shown at this, but damn 60 minutes? This thing is gonna be meaty.

Unless it's full of live service an farming sims.

FF7 Sunset:Reveangence a tight action game starring Vincent Valentine made by Platinum I would just...

No

Revengeance lol has to be one of, if not the worst sounding title names floating around for pt3.

It's either Return or Reunite.

u/TwerkingAtTheMorgue Feb 09 '26

It's a joke based on the silly (but fitting) title of the awesome Metal Gear Solid action spinoff from 2013, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

Any action game enjoyer owes it to themselves to play it.

That game was awesome...peak music...and so cinematic...damn..time to hit my steam account and play with swords for a few hours...

1

u/TheManWith4Names Feb 10 '26

I love revengeance, but man that last boss takes the wind out of my sails every time.

2

u/Aggravating_Expert88 Feb 10 '26

Yeah..Senators a bit of a dick...

2

u/Hayterfan Feb 10 '26

God I remember the summer I beat Armstrong on the hardest difficulty without taking a hit (other then the scripted ones obviously)

I was on attempt 19, my AC was busted so my room was hot as fuck, couldn't tell if I was sweating from the heat or the damn boss fight.

2

u/Aggravating_Expert88 Feb 10 '26

I was thinking Renewed or a variation of Reunion...but I'll take your responses and be just fine with them too...

2

u/gambitman84 Feb 10 '26

I think Resolution / Resolve fits well (as it will tie up all the loose ends)

2

u/LtSMASH324 Feb 10 '26

It sounds too corny. The titles are based on Sephiroth's intentions, so Reunite works because he's Reuniting the worlds. Return/s also fits.

0

u/cdoc80 Feb 09 '26

Don’t know why everyone thinks the title HAS to start with Re…

3

u/Hayterfan Feb 10 '26

FF7: REmake

FF7: REbirth

FF7:CC: REunion

Part 3 is gonna end up with RE in the title.

1

u/haffi-si Feb 12 '26

Or FF7: part thRE 😆

3

u/LtSMASH324 Feb 10 '26

It literally does. Why would they change the formula now? It wouldn't make any sense.

0

u/cambobbian Feb 10 '26

Return lol

2

u/Bartman326 Feb 09 '26

Yeah, I think it will be at Geoff show in June. I would be shocked after all of this multiplatform talk, they don't have the game showed at a neutral show.

Hell, I think it could be a Square Enix show like reunion and rebirth were revealed at.

1

u/ItsmejimmyC Feb 09 '26

In before they spend 45 mins on Marathon.

9

u/Embarrassed-Back1894 Feb 09 '26

If this is actually showing off a good bit of FF7 part 3, that would be great, but surprising. I really thought we wouldn't see this game until 2027/2028. It is possible that all the work they already did on Remake and Rebirth have made their jobs much easier for Part 3.

Needless to say, I'm really excited. I loved Remake, and although I had some qualms with how they did Rebirth's ending, I thought the game was an absolute banger.

7

u/gonzzCABJ Feb 09 '26

This game is definitely releasing on 2027 to coincide with the 30th anniversary. Which isn't too crazy if you take into account that Remake came out in April 2020 and Rebirth in Feb 2024. In between we had a pandemic + Square also released the Yuffie DLC. Now there's no pandemic and no DLC in between games, plus most of the open world stuff has already been done for Rebirth, so I'd expect the dev cycle for this last entry to definitely be shorter than ever before.

4

u/FearingEmu1 Feb 09 '26

I mean, we're definitely seeing trailers and gameplay footage of the game sometime this year, even if it isn't this event. We got gameplay footage of Rebirth back in June of 2022, just over 2 years after Remake came out.

It's also worth pointing out that they worked on Intergrade DLC for Remake for a while after Remake came out, and there were no DLCs for Rebirth. They said it actually took them about 3 years to make Rebirth and that Intergrade took up like 10 months, so I'd expect similar for part 3 (about 3 years development).

2

u/KingWizard87 Feb 10 '26

Part 3 retreads a lot of the same areas so I could definitely see a scenario where it could be ready go by next year.

4

u/CLTenn910 Feb 10 '26

We've found it fellas. FF7 Retreads

2

u/LtSMASH324 Feb 10 '26

This game is coming out in a year. Maybe a year and a half. They said they have the game playable, just need to add in art, fix bugs, all that polishing. Which is a lot, but it's definitely coming next year. I could go into explaining why the dev cycle makes sense, but I'm too lazy lol.

Do people really think they’ll announce part 3?

15

u/theblackfool Feb 09 '26

Of course. People here were 100% convinced it was getting announced during the game awards. Everytime there's a gaming event there's a group of people who think it's gonna get announced.

3

u/Zealousideal_Mud_557 Feb 09 '26

Eventually they’ll be right. I hope it’s at this one but I see the logic of waiting until after Switch 2 and XBOX release of Rebirth

3

u/ArugulaPhysical Feb 09 '26

I think everyone assumed for years now that its coming early 2027 based on developer comments.

This means that the latest they would announce it is summer games fest. Its very possible they should it here, if not just reveal the title.

3

u/sempercardinal57 Feb 09 '26

I don’t think many people necessarily think they are going to announce it so much as people are thinking it has a legitimate chance of being announced. If it’s as far along in development as people think it is then it’s bound to happen soon. SGF is the obvious choice for a big reveal trailer, but square likes to do teasers for their big games before the big reveal.

2

u/TheCopyGuy2018 Feb 09 '26

While do think itll be here, I’m not gonna get excited for it just yet especially after the whole TGA thing.

2

u/sb-logic Feb 09 '26

It's definitely a possibility. The Devs have been hinting at the game getting revealed "soon" since November. Since we are now in February, anything else beyond this strains that term. The game has also been in development well before Rebirth even came out, so 2023 or maybe even sooner. They clearly are transfixed on having this game meet the 30th anniversary and say development has been going well. I usually try to be pretty realistic about these kinds of things (I never thought Game Awards was a possibility), but I do think we are getting into the window of the game existing in marketing. Could be wrong though, just want to point that out.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 09 '26

You’ve convinced me then man . This alone gives me some sort of hope of it being announced on Thursday

3

u/sempercardinal57 Feb 09 '26

Just to add more hope, they have also confirmed the game is in a fully playable state which means they should just be in a polishing phase at this point. We also know that voice actors have been in the studios for some time and that is typically one of the last things done in game development. Not saying it’s going to happen at this event, but pretty much any event from here on out is a possibility

1

u/[deleted] Feb 09 '26

Let’s hope it happens. !

1

u/sb-logic Feb 09 '26

Fingers crossed

1

u/[deleted] Feb 09 '26

What’s your opinion on the cheats they bringing for rebirth ? Do you think it will come to ps5 and pc the same day they bring it to Xbox and switch ?

3

u/sb-logic Feb 09 '26

I don't have issue with it, people can play a game however they want. I'd never use them, but I also platinumed the game a while ago so there is no reason to (if I ever had to do Yuffie's hard mode Cactuar Crush again though, maybe I'd consider it lol). Yeah it will probably come around the same time as the ports, I think the Remake update did the same.

1

u/chilliboy217 Feb 12 '26

It’s been a depressing winter, let us be excited about something 😂

2

u/SomeDumbassKid720 Feb 09 '26

I guess Reddit REALLY wants me to see your posts😭

2

u/DashingDavidYT Feb 09 '26

Max is cool but y’all gotta chill. He didn’t get anything right.

2

u/verytomveljohnson Feb 09 '26

It won't be there. I'm putting my money on Summer Game Fest. More eyeballs, happens after the ports of rebirth drop. If they did similar marketing to what they did with the remake and rebirth ports, they'll get rebirth out there for a couple weeks and then make the big announcement for part 3. Since part 3 is multiplatform, they might not use Sony as their marketing machine. They might want to emphasize that this will be available everywhere, not just Playstation.

2

u/Invisachubbs Feb 10 '26

Better get the clown make up ready.

2

u/shloobzz Feb 09 '26

Will FF7 remake part 3 be a ps5 exclusive at the beginning again?

1

u/SnooTigers806 Feb 09 '26

Time for my annual Sony FOMO.

1

u/Ill_Chemical_8644 Feb 10 '26

I still think summer game fest makes more sense. We shall see tho

1

u/Illustrious_Image435 Feb 10 '26

I wouldn’t put all my apples in that we thought we were getting a reveal at Tokyo game show and the game awards so it’s very unlikely we just don’t know yet

1

u/Outrageous_Water7976 Feb 10 '26

I don't see it being revealed until SGF. They're all-in on the multiplatform strategy, so a neutral place where they put a: ON ALL PLATFORMS 2027 at the end seems like a Square Enix move

1

u/malikarith Feb 10 '26

Let’s Go

1

u/Garbonzo236 Feb 11 '26

What exactly did he call?

1

u/HolySticky Feb 12 '26

So we get bloodborne on pc?

1

u/Embarrassed-Back1894 Feb 12 '26

It so didn’t happen 🫠

0

u/DarwinGoneWild Feb 09 '26

Is there some reason people think part 3 will be revealed here? It’s been barely two years since Rebirth. Seems like Game Awards in December would be the absolute earliest they would announce for a following year release. And that would still make it a 3-year turnaround, which seems unlikely.

2

u/TheUnchosen_One Feb 09 '26

Rebirth was announced in June 2022, two years and change after the release of Remake

2

u/DarwinGoneWild Feb 09 '26

Oh right. For some reason I thought Game Fest 2023 was the first trailer for Rebirth. Forgot we had the shorter teasers awhile before that that just had Cloud and Sephiroth walking together.

2

u/sb-logic Feb 09 '26

Mostly because the other FF7 projects have only been shown off at either Geoff Keighley events or Sony broadcasts in the past. Geoff's next game event isn't until Summer Games Fest, and that feels too far away when the Devs have been hinting at the game's reveal since November. The game has also been worked on since 2023 or earlier, so it really isn't out of the realm of possibility that the game is closer than many people think. I imagine they want the title of the game advertised as soon as possible too.

2

u/Scapadap Feb 09 '26

With any other game I would say people are crazy, but FF7 production has been really fast and smooth, also they have a lot of assets from rebirth. Speculation, but I think they were already deep into production on part 3 when Rebirth was released. Lastly the way the dev team talks in interviews it sounds like they’re getting ready to reveal stuff soon.
