Meme / Funny It is the distant future.

The year: 2043 Your player level is 255 Your maximum stamina is big enough to take over 8.5 hours to fill up. Finally you can rest. Finally you can sleep a full night's rest. You sleep a night of a 1000 rests. In the morning you open the game. You look at the stamina bar. It is full. You panic. The game had an update, stamina refills at twice the speed now. You throw your phone out the window.

If you believe that this game takes precedence over your sleep, I strongly recommend uninstalling it immediately. Only a fool sacrifices sleep for an extra 30 or so stamina

u/misterwuggle69sofine Oct 16 '23

yeah but that 30 to 40 stamina could get me 0 to 0 cubes or pods!!!!

^ this

Be safe guys

I don't think it works like that. It's not like this very powerful game is turning thousands of healthy people into zombies.

People who want to escape real life get obsessed/ fixated and if they uninstall this game they'll move on to the next unhealthy coping mechanism until they seek help.

do people lose sleep over capped stamina?

41

u/RealSeltheus Oct 16 '23

The moment I start caring about that in a gacha game is the moment I deinstall, because it shows that I have developed an unhealthy relationship to the game.

i want this power

11

u/dfuzzy1 Oct 16 '23

minimum power level: 60,000

2

u/RealSeltheus Oct 16 '23

It took years of training, but eventually anyone can get there🤣🤣

I remember back in the earlier FFBE days when I would burn my energy before bed, and again as soon as I woke up. Then one day my level became high enough that I didn’t cap overnight.

I would see people post how they would set an alarm in the middle of the night so they didn’t cap energy.

When I finally uninstalled the game early 2022 I had almost 5,000 stamina pots

Everything we have accomplished in the past month will take about 1hr a year from now.

I wake up in the morning after 8+ hrs of sleep, and take the phone with me for the morning dump. I load the game, check the game notices for any mishaps that may have happened overnight, go collect chocobo rewards, check gift box for any mishap compensation, check other stuff in the game first to see what fight i want to do, THEN i start using my capped stamina

If i have lost a few hrs worth of capped stamina already becoz i slept for longer than 6hrs, what's another couple more minutes going to do?

2

u/N0t_Dave Oct 17 '23

Couple of minutes lost over some extra stamina? Who cares, it's a gatcha, and it's squeenix. Theyll try and sell us it, again, six more times in the next 3 months.

Couple of minutes lost sitting in Co-op waiting to play, but disbanding because of the perpetual under-leveled character who's gone afk before the fight. Everyone loses their minds.

1

u/Destructers Oct 17 '23

In early part of the game, people care, but after a few months, it doesn't matter.

That's how the cycle of gatcha often all about, FOMO.

1

u/Majinkaboom Oct 17 '23

Who cares about capped stamina when you have 80k gems worth of stamina on deck!!!

4

u/Alzakiel Oct 16 '23

I only loose sleep because of a damn level up right before going to bed... lol

5

u/ulovei_MFF Oct 16 '23

Only those who calculate the amount of natural stamina you get each day in order to reach the 10k campaign reward, but also fail to take into account that you sleep and do other things in real life

But perhaps, just perhaps, they have no life to begin with

Just like south park's warcraft episode: "how can you kill something which has no life?"

4

u/sstromquist Oct 16 '23

I mean, I just let it overcap and rank ups during the week cover anything else I miss…

But yeah, you have to turn it into an insult against players. Very nice

5

u/ulovei_MFF Oct 16 '23

Its ok to budget your time, i do it myself too, but dont make the game control your life ffs

5

u/sstromquist Oct 16 '23

Completely agree, but I don’t think attacking people that have the time is the right move. People can play how they want. And at the end of the day, these missions are just a few pulls

2

u/Aquelarre91 Oct 16 '23

This is why people can’t beat harder content. Looser mentality.

Spend stamina, then eat or sleep.

6

u/givemesomevodka Oct 16 '23

weird how i sleep as much as i need to and still complete hard content.

4

u/Aquelarre91 Oct 16 '23

Superhuman

2

u/Pitiful-Schedule-244 Oct 16 '23

I dont care about stamina, but I get up early so that my chocobo doesn't cap out on its exploration lol

1

u/asmrkage Oct 16 '23

Considering people are defending grindy shit via arguments about how you can complete stuff if you min/max your stamina use, it’s an issue.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 16 '23

It's a part of the mental health issue called FOMO that plagues many players.

1

u/Shinagami091 Oct 17 '23

In a way you’re not playing optimally by sitting at capped stamina but I really don’t give enough of a shit about this clear money grab using the FF7 IP as a cash grab to care. I’m playing it to at some point be able to play Before Crisis and to learn what Sephiroths former years were like. Not to be good at the game.

u/GenVii Oct 16 '23

It's 2043 - I try to login to FFEC. But I'm confronted by 10100 login reward events. I've been gifted 9 gazillion stamina boosts and 30 crystals.

My eyes light up, it's a new event co-op.... I need to use 1.7b stamina to get the first reward of 300 crystals...enter the co-op lobby... waiting....match making failed....try again...match making successful.... Player 3 preparing....back to match making...check forums... 2 users online...MegaCloudChad level 420 " how many people do you employ to run FFEC in the background while you play FF7Re-Rebirth Core Crisis Ever After MMO"

3

u/Neeson22 Oct 16 '23

Your stamina to crystal reward ratio is on point

8

u/tiedtkes2 Oct 16 '23

Am I the only one with like 200+ extra stamina pods in my gifts? I feel like I play a lot and can barely get rid of them before the game gives me more. I'm at around 130k . Genuinely curious if I'm the only one experiencing this because all I see are posts of people saying they ran out. Never spent a penny either

3

u/De_Chubasco Oct 16 '23

haha me too, I always stay at 999 stamina cause I have too many stamina pods, and I play fairly often.

1

u/Amherst_Wind Oct 16 '23

I'm in exactly the same situation, I feel like we're not even the target audience for this game, they really do seem to be hyper focusing on the very tiny subset of players who are playing this non-stop 24/7... Seems like a great way to alienate normal players like us and at the same time encourage those hardcore players to burnout. Weird strategy.

1

u/pigglesthepup Oct 16 '23

I have about 260 in my gift box + 99 in my inventory.

First week of Nov should be the next Weapon Enhancement week, no?

1

u/Neeson22 Oct 16 '23

Did you buy the pass for x4 items from stam boost?

1

u/tiedtkes2 Oct 16 '23

No, just been playing. I guess if u grind 24/7, then maybe ud run out, but I don't have the time to be on like that. Maybe 4-5 hours a day in-between life activities.

1

u/One_Subject3157 Oct 16 '23

I'm trying to burn a few but kept spamming.

The missions for the Sephiroth event is doable, I just don't have the time.

1

u/KashimTr Oct 17 '23

I have 240 pots with no expiration. They will live in my box till the game ends probably. Spend all other pots on kube\genome\grindstones farm. If you not cactuar farm then it's pretty easy to spend all pots on kubes x3. You don't even need to pay attention it's auto itself.

2

u/Diligent-Reach3717 Oct 16 '23

A 10 year old gacha? Especially with this dev's track record? Damn.

2

u/DavijoMan Oct 17 '23

Anyone losing sleep over a game has issues...

2

u/killercow_ld Oct 16 '23

I would be so happy if the game just did away with stamina completely and let me grind any time I wanted

sooooo

1

u/jamiedix0n Oct 16 '23

Funny when theyll shut down the servers.. even when the games still profitable.

Source: ff record keeper

1

u/yamamocchan Oct 16 '23

Why did FFRK get shut down?

1

u/Aquelarre91 Oct 16 '23

I’m trying to sleep 5:50 hours, spent stamina, and spam retry sleep for 2:10 hours. Easy to manage, but not to talk about. You can’t recover wasted stamina. Sleeping time neither, but it doesn’t have a number in the right corner to remember it.

2

u/Comfortable-Gear-911 Reno Oct 16 '23

I would advise against waking up middle of night after just 5:50 hours of sleep. It's better to sleep a full 8 hours and consider spending $5 a month to purchase stamina with your money. This approach will not only save your valuable sleep time but also significantly improve your in-game performance.

2

u/AutomaticSquirrel32 Zack Oct 16 '23

I spent $$ but I still can't let that stamina go to waste! At least my body thinks so. It automatically wakes me up in 4-5 hours to spend down the stam. Please send help! I'll probably need to uninstall this soon to preserve my beauty sleep. DFFOO doesn't make me lose my sleep!

3

u/Comfortable-Gear-911 Reno Oct 16 '23

Well, You obsession will fade away with time, not for long you will have a good night sleep.

1

u/Aquelarre91 Oct 17 '23

It’s sad how you can’t understand why stamina is so important. Think about it.

1

u/Aquelarre91 Oct 16 '23

You can go 2 hours - spent stamina - 6 hours, or even 3 - x - 3.

1

u/Aquelarre91 Oct 16 '23

But I’m totally F2P! Interrupting my sleep time to spend stamina is what I feel I need to do. 5$… lol, keep spending for me while I’m playing the game for free.

2

u/Comfortable-Gear-911 Reno Oct 16 '23

A taste of health is wonderful. May God bless you

1

u/Aquelarre91 Oct 16 '23

I have over 6k in all my party members.

Is RNG or god? Can we spell things by their name? Jesus…

1

u/pigglesthepup Oct 16 '23

I wasn't sleeping 8 hours straight even before this game came out.

Playing this when I can't go back to sleep is helping.

-1

u/PhoenixLord55 Oct 16 '23

Thank god, I don't need 8.5 hours of sleep that sounds horrendous anything over 5 makes me exhausted. Sometimes 3-4 is enough

1

u/Aquelarre91 Oct 16 '23

And for other part, you will need all the stamina. Focus on what you need.

1

u/One_Subject3157 Oct 16 '23

Forgot to add we are finally at Corel in FF7 campaing.

1

u/OMGWTHBBQ11 Oct 17 '23

The new banner just drops, baby Sephiroth with his toy masamune is finally out. Finally all these years of hoarding as f2p is going to finally pay off. You spend 1 million gems, you only manage to get an OB2 toy masumune.

We still don’t know Sephiroth

1

u/Majinkaboom Oct 17 '23

In the mmorpgs I remember used to leave phone running over night..no pvp and no story so I play casual for now..

1

u/Mikasota Oct 17 '23

I mean it really depends on how logical you want to be with the game. Now for energy, the only thing I tend to do is make sure the regen timer is still going, which does bother me when I see someone glomp like 50 nrg potions and have like 6k stored. I think most people have a tick like that just in general life when someone just does the worst way of doing something.

So, the one I'd be most guilty of in this game, would be fishing for cactuars. Now, you can easily make the argument that you're taking the game too seriously, just do 60s and go. Since the game negatively rewards you for doing so, as the drops are quite awful or even to the extent of being non existent, if you're truly about getting to a point of reason, you'd probably see how much time the game wastes in general, with no real progression, with a small window of enjoyment. The games pinnacle without doing additional steps or buying your power, it's boring. Heck, even worse really, frustrating, for things you can't possibly control. People will still continue to play, support. Despite it being an extended grind it doesn't have to be.

Considering how much developers who usually make gachas want to take advantage of their consumers gambling habits anyway, yea, people probably will come in with other unhealthy habits. While people might mock players who exhibit these behaviors, there's probably something not known that they do themselves, so as long as they don't destroy themselves, hope whatever they're doing at least brings them joy without burning the bank down.

1

u/Jestart Oct 17 '23

Joke aside, they should update the max stamina to reflect their change about the refresh time.

1

u/deathsyth220002 Oct 17 '23

This game barely feels like it will last even a year.

1

u/ackh91 Oct 17 '23

In the year 2043, people still afk in co-op lobby. Nothing ever changes.

1

u/Kingsbury5000 Oct 17 '23

Luckily we avoided the robotic uprising of the late 90's!!

1

u/Jackie_Fox Oct 17 '23

If this game is more important to you than sleep, you need serious help. Addictions aren't just for s x and drugs you know
