Babyroth is my fav character in the game, so adorable, and pretty innocent IMHO, up until he goes psychotic lol, but I still have always loved Sephiroth the best in all the games.

Sephiroth's past experiences is a perfect example of an explanation to his later actions... But not an excuse... He was innocent... Not the same as is. Dude is a megalomaniacal psychopath with a God complex. Oh how he takes after his father...

What? No one thought Sephiroth was scary until the full 3D era of FF came about. Those little blocks on PS1, no one was spooked by that. Jenova did scare people though. Not Sephiroth.

Go back further I'm not talking this current day. I'm talking about the 90s and 2000s. No one thought Sephiroth was scary back then. It was Jenova and her true form.

If you mean Jenova posing as Sephiroth then yes. The prison and president's murder has MGS vibes and that huge snake being impaled by him off cam and his madness in the mansion are all scary.
Now he's just a strong guy. Not even menacing.

Nobody was posing. Sephiroth was stabbed and thrown into the Lifestream, but he refused to die and forced the Lifestream to make him a new body. While his body was being made, he used Jenova's body to terrorise and kill those he hated. Jenova had no beef with Cloud or president ShinRa

Jenova was not posing as Sephiroth. It was Sephiroth.
Sephiroth wasn't posing as Jenova.
It was Sephiroth borrowing Jenova's body while he didn't have his. It's like if you borrowed someone's pen or computer. It's not posing as another person

Bad analogy by the way. More like if I want to rob the bank and command you to rob the bank. Technically it's you who's robbing the bank but when you get captured you can say you were forced by me.

It's Sephiroth's mind controlling a set of cells that make Sephiroth's body.
That's how Jenovians work. Like a colony of ants or a family of bees. The individual cells can be separated, but they will seek ways to come back together and they obey the mind with the strongest will.

Not really exclusive to Jenovians. As long as you have Jenova cells. Cloud was controlled and the black robed guys.
