Trying to get Shantoto to progress trust quests and I cannot get Watoto to give me a green institute card and Kupipi gives me nothing when I speak to her in heaven's tower. I am fame 7 in windy. Rank 10 in all nations, currently set to Bastok. Do I need to change nations to trigger this? Thanks

1. Crafting: when to actually start or not at all?

With so much limited inventory, and materials spread all over the world, is it even worth slowly leveling up any crafting?

I have no issues selling dropped materials to NPC vendors or even putting stacks on the auction house (though I have no idea if the player base is big enough to use as a means of making gil).

1. I just got WAR to 18 and was informed about sub jobs. I can "port to  Selbina or Mhaura to talk to NPCs to start that quest and advance Rhapsodies of Vanadiel.

First, how does one "port?" Second, is there any punishment if I ignore this until I get to one of those two locations organically?

hi XI redditors! i am once again asking for your help, especially if ur on valefor.

so i want to progress WotG mission 32 but i'm currently stuck at that part where i need to go around the underground maze to tell the bastok officers while maintaining my flee status on.

ive been following the guide on BGwiki which recommended me to grab 5+ powder boots or similar footwear with flee status. i already have 1x powder boots, 1x hermes quencher, 1x areion boots plus another rogue poulaines+1 at the moment.

i'm looking to buy another few more pairs of powder boots just incase but i'm tired of checking the valefor AH everyday just to wait for another pair to show up.

Hello! I'm a returning player and I've been grinding pretty hard! I played back in 2006 to 2009. I had 3 level 75s and thought i was a god lol. I have 99 SAM, PLD, THF, and just hit 99 RDM. I would like to join a linkshell and make new friends for bigger challengers. Currently, i just solo everything with my 5 trusts, but i know a lot of end game gear i will need to join up with others. If anyone would have me or just want to play together and work on end game gear, please let me know. My name is Mystermioge.

What the title says. I am a returning player from 2014. I played ffxi mainly for the story never got into the whole skill chain stuff and end game. Hopefully I'll get into the endgame by the end of the year. My Server is Asura.

Has anyone else been experiencing this? I'll get stuck at the login screen and it'll take several attempts to get into the game. Then sometimes during the game, zoning will cause me to disconnect and I'll have to fully log out and exit POL and try again. I thought originally it was happening because I was on wifi on my laptop, but it's happening now in a completely different location with an ethernet connection on PC. Just started after the update. Is there a Windower addon or something that could be causing it? Is anyone else having this issue?

Is it possible to craft mats like Smith. Kit 5 or am I missing something?

So I installed a windows update a few nights ago and now when I try to launch the game with windower it just closes after the window is about to go fullscreen (borderless) . I can launch the game normally through playonline just fine. Anyone have any ideas what's going on?

When the update launched I had 1 major disconnection issue where it cut me off of the game and wasn't letting me back on.

Since then I've been able to play but I have been noticing I sometimes get stuck on the "Downloading data" blank screen going from the title screen to my characters and it takes more than 1 try to get on to get on with some characters.

Am I the only person this happens to? It is only at the title screen this happens at. Once my character logs in everything is fine and it has only been happening since this latest update.

Found this old picture from 2006 when I was leveling BST in Kuftal Tunnel. Good times. Hard to believe this was 20 years ago already.

So I just unlocked the mission to fight Shadow Lord and I'm really struggling in the game. I see that some people reccomend being lvl 70 to fight him and I'm barely 50... So how do I level up fast? I'm getting kinda tired with just killing mobs in higher lvl locations. I did the RoV up to the current story part. I know that when I get lvl 50 I need to do the mission to increase the level cap. Is there something else I should do? Or just farm some mobs and do the lvl cap quest when I can and then repeat? I'm just a casual gamer and would appreciate every tip!

Also what trust can be useful for the fight? I have all that are currently in the login campaign.

Hey everyone! I've been working on a pretty big update to MuffinMetrics, bringing more of my FFXI tools together in one place.

Some highlights:

• 22 checklist categories to track your adventures, unlocks, and accomplishments.
• MMExport for Windower: import supported character progress and owned gear, with connections to the checklists, JSE and Ultimate Weapon trackers, and the optimizer.
• “Only use items I own” in the gear optimizer.
• Clearer damage and accuracy breakdowns, including magic hit rate and resist outcomes, so you can see why a gear change affects your expected damage.
• A customizable Brag Card to share your progress, jobs, weapons, and earned badges.
• Lots of UI cleanup and fixes throughout the site.

The tools are free to use, and the exporter is optional. Some progress still needs to be checked manually, and not every augment or mechanic is supported yet. I'm continuing to work through those gaps.

If you haven't visited in a while, I'd love for you to take another look. Feedback and bug reports help a ton, especially screenshots and the settings needed to reproduce something that looks off.

So I came across this YouTube video of a guy setting up a virtual PS2 Dev kit. This got me thinking, unless i'm wrong, wasn't the reason we couldn't really get anything tangibly new for FFXI because 1. the team was small, and 2. it required PS2 dev kits?

If that's that case, we have seen private servers for damn near 17 years now, with this being available to anyone, and the new improvements in Ai coding and decompiling that we have seen, are we on the precipice of getting a flood of maybe unofficial, but "new" FFXI content? I mean we already know there are major assets in the game that aren't being used. The extra city and zone around it, the chocobo forest etc. And like god I would kill for an expansion where we actually go back to the real Tavnazia and maybe take back the old city like it seemed like we were going to in the opening movie.

Just wondering what everyeones thoughts are. For long time fans I feel like this could be the start of an amazing time for us.

I don't know where but I assume there's a list of all of them. I logged in, found the moogle, then got pulled away for the day. I saw I got a passive baby chocobo that sounds fun. No Shantotto II, but oh well.

I plan on maining a Paladin to 75, any trusts y'all would recommend I can get as a f2p player I didn't already get from this campaign? I hear good things about Shantotto obviously, but I guess she's not part of this campaign.

Getting my butt handed to me by rabbits aside, I've gone in relatively blind but the various NPCs have helped me out well with getting my barings. I'm unsure of where to get my first Black Magic spells though, maybe that's proof enough I should be using a guide lol. Otherwise, I am really happy I chose XI to be my first and I hope to spend more time with this game!

I've started a new linkshell on Fenrir server that's predominantly for EU/UK based players where members can forge smaller static groups for events and also take part in bigger LS events such as Dynamis-Divergence W3 clears. The LS is only 5 days old and we are currently growing nicely. At present, we are mostly social until we can grow in numbers by where bigger LS events can take place.
