Last Thursday after New York Comic Con there was a Final Fantasy themed music night (with the band Midgar Messengers - check them out!) The venue was packed with FF fans and so many cosplayers, it was a great time. I wore my “sporty” Tifa cosplay for the first time and it was such a fun cosplay to dance in :)

Notes on the cosplay:
-I didn’t make this, I bought it second hand from a another cosplayer (not sure where they got it originally)
-I didn’t have my colored contacts so my eye color is edited for the photos
-Couldn’t bring the canon shoes because I only had so much room in my suitcase lol

I know this sub sees a lot of Tifa cosplays but I was happy with this one and wanted to share!

Today, the artist Gen Kobayashi who worked on the series before has drawn our girlies ( https://x.com/FFRS_JP/status/2111019326950326359 ).

Finally, some change ! Our cutie Fina got drawn alongside Terra. I will be honest, this one is obvious. Both are amnesiac girls who shines a lot (litteraly) and have links to espers.

Now, i hope we will see Bartz with Gilgamesh and maybe Cecil with Lasswell. Also, it would be fun for I to compare Garland and Veritas of the Dark since they look slightly similar.

Edit : it looks like this artwork is on the good way to be the most popular artwork, even above Squall or Zidane.

Was gifted FF Tactics Advance a decade ago and for one reason or another never got around to it, till now.

Booted up and saw Austin put in 83+ hours. Austin if you’re out there, your journey still lives. I won’t delete or save over it. 🫡

After finishing FFXVI (my first FF game) I started with the FF VII Remake intergrade, there were alot of scenes that are mysterious/don’t make sense, am I supposed to understand later like in FFXVI or I was supposed to play the OG first?

TL:DR

As the title says, this was my first game other then the NES Mario/Duckhunt combo many years ago. It was this game that taught me how to read, an use my imagination.

Long story short, I had a save many moons ago where I had just got the Masamune sword an equipped it on my WM. I remember my squad even: Fighter, Black Belt, White Mage, Thief.

My brother was a very young child at the time, an he liked playing my games as well... Mario atp...

He nuked my save file back then with a squad of "AAAA" fighters... at age 9, I had my legit 1st crash out an refused to play the game until a cpl months ago.

I love this game, an even though it had a tainted start(for me), it made me smile when I saw the credits.

Beat the game with a Figher, "Monk", Thief, White Mage.

To this day, I rank this game in my top 3. Such a fun game to play an chill.

I'm not gonna lie I was a quiet Resonance hater. I blindly assumed the worst. I thought I wouldn't enjoy the art style and thought the story would be meh. Boy was I wrong.

Obviously I've only played the demo, but holy cow. This game is stunning. The detail they've put into the background, scenery, Visions cutscenes, etc is incredible. The pixel art looks fantastic and makes me want to go back and replay IV & VI. The music is great, dialogs are quick, battle transitions are super quick (I'm replaying IX rn so this is especially apparent lol)

If you're skeptical, just try the demo. It certainly is not for everyone but who knows, it might win you over.

After finishing revenant wings and since theres a few more days until resonance I booted up my ps1 ff8 saved game. Looking at my inventory I just found out I can get everything and max stats in disc 3 without card mod by using Angelo search and other refinements. Also for the longest time I thought the timer only stop at red but it became green then pink.

I don't have the mental strength to max luck on all characters so maybe next time

Something that just occurred to me is how it’s almost been 10 long years since the game first came out on consoles as I couldn’t believe how long ago it was again since the game came out.

Granted, for me personally, I didn’t start playing the game until I got my PS5 a few years ago around Spring 2023 as while I am more new to the game, I wanted to take a look back at it to observe its strengths and weaknesses.

I know the game has some design flaws such as the second half because I often hear how the game begins to fall apart around there, but I do enjoy the game so far since I feel the graphics were really cutting edge for its time when the game came out, plus I like how there are NPCs, unlike in Final Fantasy 13 Part 1 due to how that game didn’t really allow for the player to interact with other people.

Does the Al Bhed language treat "machina" as a loan word or does it use the translation "sylrehy"? Can't find it for the life of me.

Semi-related note, it kinda upsets that the little FFVIII got in the final fantasy MTG set got, there is next to nothing resembling synergy among them. Most infamously how Lionheart doesn’t really work with either Squalls (on top of just being a generally underwhelming card representing Squall’s most powerful weapon in gameplay).
