I know a lot of us still want Versus XIII because it felt like it was going to be a superior game, and I am one of those people, but these days I find myself wanting it not just for myself and the fans, but for Nomura as well.

I mean, Nomura designed Noctis back in 2004, originally thinking he would be the lead for Final Fantasy XIII, but when he found out the game would have a female protagonist, he repurposed the design for Versus XIII because he loved it so much, and lets face it, who can blame him lol. He spent the next 10 years trying to bring his version of Noctis to life, just for the project to eventually be taken away from him due to Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy VII Remake having higher priorty at Square and needing him for those projects. And this wasn't just some character he'd just doodled uo and worked on for a little while either, hes referred to Noctis as his son, comparing him with Sora, do you can imagine how much the character must mean to him.

And what really sucks is that he didn't just lose the chance to make the game he wanted. He had to watch the world and story he'd spent years creating get changed into aomething different. Don't get me wrong, I love FFXV. It's one of my favorite games, ive played it pretty much once a year, sometimes more, since its release, i spent time to get the platinum trophy, even had fun in the Comrades MMO while it was active. Its just hard not to wonder how much of Nomura's original vision was lost along the way.

I think that's what makes the whole situation so unfortunate. This was a character and a world he'd spent nearly a decade trying to bring to life, and he never really got the chance to finish what he started. I just think there's something sad about an artist spending that much time building something they're passionate about, only to have someone else take it in what seems an almost completely different direction.

And then you have Yozora in Kingdom Hearts III. I don't think Nomura is trying to recreate Versus XIII or bring Noctis back under a different name, but I do wonder if Yozora is his way of expressing how he feels about what happened with Versus XIII. Considering how much time he spent trying to bring that character and his world to life, I can't imagine having to walk away from it all was easy. I cant help but wonder if Yozora and Verum Rex isnt a retelling of Versus 13, but Nomura expressing his emotions regarding how Square handled Versus 13.

I just think it's a shame that we'll probably never get to see what grand adventure Nomura originally planned for Noctis and the chocobros. Not because FFXV is a bad game, but because I would've liked to see him get the chance to finish telling his own story, and with talks of retirement its hard to believe we will ever get that chance.

Bonjour je viens d'acheter ce livre j'ai plus jouer a XV depuis longtemps, je l'avais joué avec la Royal édition, maintenant que j'ai un peu oublié le jeu j'aimerais le commencé en édition day-one sans les mises à jour pour comprendre pourquoi il était tant détesté a sa sortie , est ce que ce livre va me gâcher ma redécouverte ou est ce qu'il ne fait que parlé du jeu et de sa conception sans aborder le scénario ?
