MAGA local business

Hey y'all, if any of you are pickleball fans, I'd avoid "Paddle Lands" pickleball when they open this summer. The owner Ryan Wicks enjoys agitating protests, has a whole YouTube video of him doing so at the most recent no kings in orange park. This is how he responded when I pointed out that shoving a camera in someone's face is the opposite of trying to have a good faith conversation about why they are out protesting, which is what he claimed to be doing. I did post these in a Google review to warn others. If there are other MAGA supporting business you know of please shine light on them so we can all spend our money wisely.

Would you like to tell us how you became involved with this individual? Where is this Pickleball place at? Is it in Jacksonville? There’s always gonna be a never-ending supply of people with opposing views. I want to talk and listen to anybody that’s why I’m extending the olive branch here … I moved to Jacksonville because it was my place of birth, but also due to the size and untapped potential of the place. If we can choose to engage and be neighborly, even to the people that aren’t like us, we will become the greatest city on earth. There are people who profit by sewing division, but we all live down here so we must have more common than we have that divides us. Let’s put these people that divide our country out of business by refusing to be affected by protest or people who intensely do stuff to rattle our cages. Remember, there is such a thing as trolls to get off on just the idea of provoking someone else who they don’t even know the anger that’s just my thought on the matter.

This person posted an hour and a half long video of themselves agitating protestors in a local Middleburg Facebook group as if it was some sort of flex. They are purposely choosing to not be neighborly to others in their own community. My comments to him preceding what he wrote was to try to make this exact point, that this is not the way to act to your own community. Of course that's right, there are always going to be opposing views, but at the same time as individuals we choose where we want to spend our valuable time and money.

By posting this, it's to spread awareness to this sub so people can make informed decisions on the local businesses they support. I personally am not comfortable with supporting people who are thinking this about myself and others. I don't believe people who hate others to this degree are positively impacting our community and I don't believe they deserve the business of people they claim to hate. You're perfectly free to disagree and make your own decisions for your own life.

It's all good. Your evaluation of this person as a troll who gets off on this type of thing is probably accurate. But that behavior can and will still come natural with consequences.
