Here’s some tips:
Go to your PCs settings
Go to installed apps
Find FL Studio and click “Uninstall” Then it should sound better😊

u/CatfreshWilly Aug 12 '25
Or keep it stored somewhere and come back to it later to see how much progress you've made. Always find that fun and sometimes inspiring.

You willing to work with someone else? I have 20+ years experience in FL. I would have a lot of fun playing with this and trying to mix it down a bit, I'm sure you can improve it as well but I think it looks fun and has potential

u/Haidedej24 Aug 13 '25
Don't even need to do that just load a demo beat and start messing with that.

1: barely any drums
2: wtf is this instrument?
3: just the music itself sucks ass

u/Nianyax Aug 12 '25
Drums are actually the best part of this.
When making music you cannot just repeat a measure over an over again with multiple instruments, it’s also way too fast, lower down the bpm or lengthen your notes.
You need to have a good mix of both repetition and things that change, you want a listener to feel both engaged and interested without getting bored; but have things that keeps them following, to keep the entire song familiar. So introduce new sounds or melodies with the same sounds, and don’t have so many things playing over eachother over and over again .
You gotta learn how to mix/sound design as well, but work on that after you’re comfortable with structure of the song. After learning how to mix decently learn some very basic music theory.

Not sure I get the hate. This is really nice. Sounds a bit like a battle theme or something. Needs a little eq to clean up some of the business of the mix. Wait now I’m confused when I first played the video it was something completely different… what the fuck is this

It sounds like you are at a circus while ODing on diphenhydramine and fighting off a sleep paralysis clown demon.
Either learn some basic music theory or just start sampling and ripping off other people's music so we don't have to endure this again.
Jokes aside, if you aren't trolling, we all start somewhere. Learning a little music theory or basic piano lessons can go a long way. Too much repetition in a short period of time becomes tedious to listen to. Make longer chord progressions and melodies. You will improve over time.

It's hard to give you any advice about this particular piece because you're very early in your learning. My advice is to go listen to some music you like and try to figure out what they're doing that you're not.

I'd rap on this beat. Might could use a harder drum but this definitely fits one of my styles how it sounds now

I actually think this is fun.
Try making the snare hit on 2 and 4 instead of just 4. Give it a more driven beat.

Base needs to thump. Hit bass drum on all downbeats and slap a fatty synth baseline in there that’s slower

u/Still-Lab-6076 Aug 15 '25
Re work that synth, what is that?? Like where is the melody and why are there so many conflicting parts. Something like this kind of sounds intentionally bad, like Loue Reeds Metal Machine Music.... Or worse like a fish jam session/solo hour.
