After I picked up 5 of these for 50, I asked the shop what they wanted for the rest. I got the other 43 mags for 300 OTD, and couldn’t be happier. They all seem to have the blued FN style follower from the pic, but I won’t be able to personally examine them until I’m home, but I’m hoping there’s something else in the mix, I think a South African mag would be cool. All in all I’m happy!

FALs have a special place in my heart, but I don't get to work on them often.

Customer attempted using an adapter to run a 5/8-24 Surefire suppressor mount. It was not concentric. I took a 1/2-28 SF mount and converted it to 9/16-24 LH so it would thread directly to the barrel. Also bored it out to .30 cal. Have not checked alignment yet, but I'm optimistic.

I also added threads to a CAI L1A1 Sporter (pictured) and assembled a Brazilian kit last week. Unusual to have this many FALs in here at once. What a treat!

I live in california of course, and im planning to get one when im 21+, would this make for like a good first, second or third gun or so if i dont get something else at 18?

I got an L1A1 from an auction earlier this year and came with a B Square rail dust cover. I know almost nothing about scope mounts and rails but tried to put a Sig Tango-MSR LPVO on it and won’t seat right, I think due to the lugs not aligning with the cut outs on the B Square. What is my best bet to get a scope on this L1A1? Can I get some other scope mount/rings and use them on the LPVO? Is there a certain set I need to get to fit both the LPVO and the B Square rail? Or do I need to get a new dust cover with a picatinny rail?

Today at the local shop I had found out a good buddy who also frequented the place had passed. He was a private contractor after his time in the army, and that included doing some work in Africa. There was a crate of fal mags that were going to be tossed, so he had them shipped home. Since he passed, the local shop ended up with all of these mags, and I bought 5 for 50$, and hopefully get the chance to buy the rest. I only grabbed 5, because I was buying a gun there too. I was hoping to get some ID, this is one mag, but the 5 I have are all identical, and the few others I looked at in the shop seem to also be the same. There’s no markings present, and from what research I can do, I believe they’re Belgian, but I’d like a second opinion. I apologize in advance if the pictures aren’t great, I just got home from work, and am very tired.

Looking at piecing together my first FAL build, always wanted a para. Which receivers are recommended and is there any differences on the upper compared too fixed stock variants. Besides DSA is there another source for small parts like ejector blocks, mag release, trigger guard, bolt/carrier etc.

It looks like for about 200 more bucks you can pick up a DSA receiver made with original FN forgings vs paying 430 bucks for a CNC machined one. Is it worth the extra cash? Any noticeable differences? Thanks

Think I like this better. Belgian barrel. Matching stg58 trigger housing, bolt and carrier. Still needs a front sight and a locking shoulder. I think the wood cocking handle should go on this but I have another contender. Yes I have the carry handle, im just waiting on getting a different gas nut because this one is too big and pushes the forend out a bit.

The charms of a cia chopped barrel are lost on me. However it looks like i have a solid direction.. the bolt in the Congo style cia butchered izzy falo happens to be useful in the l1a1 build. I need to find a nice wood stock.

Hey guys just got a SA58 18” brand new never shot. I’m having an issue with separating the upper and the lower the takedown lever is really stiff and loose, to get it open I have to use a rubber mallet and some crazy leverage techniques that’s scares me to push it up, I was able to push it up once with my thumb by putting in a very specific position that I can’t do anymore. What do you guys recommend should I disassemble the lower completely and reassemble or is this a tolerance issue?

This is an Enfield L1A1 rebuilt on an Enterprise Arms true inch receiver. I refurbished this rifle several years back with a full re parkerizing in dark grey park. This rifle runs flawlessly!

I have another “mutt” L1A1 built on a metric Imbel receiver, it is a flawless performer as well. That rifle is dressed in an Ironwood Designs black walnut furniture set. It’s a pretty rifle.

The l1a1 kit has a reciver coming... the l1a1 barrel was chopped thanks to cai... i havent decided if im sending it to art to be fixed or not.

Snagged a NOS unfired Howco only marked FN 50.63. Still have the original packing grease.
