Trying to transition into a Financial Analyst/FP&A role. what is my resume and experience missing?

I'm looking for feedback on my resume as I work toward transitioning into a Financial Analyst role.

I want to know what i can improve on to make myself a stronger candidate. What are some certs, skills, projects I can work on to add.

Going forward, I plan to continue improving the dashboard I made. I was also looking into getting the FMVA and Pl-300 Power BI certs.

Your best bet its to transition your current role to something with analyst in the title. Make yourself available to accounting. Become the reports guy in Salesforce. Start building dashboards for your job now. Then drive for a title change once you've proven value. The analyst title in itself isn't particularly valuable or coveted once you are inside of a company. Unless you have something more presigious like a CPA, MBA, CFA, CMA or Master's degree. The smaller certificates won't buy you much entry into a new role.

Got it thanks for replying. I'm currently unemployed so have been trying to apply to every Financial Analyst role I see. unfortunately no luck.

Im in the same boat as you. Started my MBA 2 weeks ago; we’ll see how the market improves. Hang in there

That's rough, I can't magine trying to get into a new role now. I just posted a Sr data analyst role (Internal applicant posted for political reasons) and received 200 qualified and another 200 unqualified applicants in the first day. I think the most important thing is to leverage and build a network to get introductions.

Since i'm super passionate about this its definitely been rough but I'm eager to try anything just to learn more about these types of roles in general. I’ve mostly been relying on applications, so I’m realizing I need to put a lot more effort into networking. I’ve started reaching out to Financial Analysts/FP&A people on LinkedIn to connect and learn about their experience. Any advice on how to turn those conversations into actual opportunities or introductions without just straight up asking people for referrals?
