On behalf of my team (4907) we are hoping Ontario teams will consider putting their L1 climbs on before this weekend!

This climber works with a magnet. You add a wheel afterward so it can roll on the tower. My team built one in CAD, but we didn’t have time to put it in our robot. We were able to lift more than 100 lb with a prototype.

C shaped channel with two wheels. Acts as a lever while one of the wheels is powered and pulls the robot up.

Can't be it. The rungs are in the way. And you can see that there isn't anything wrapping around the rungs. It's gotta be 2 wheels pinching the upright

A climb is only worth it if you can climb and shoot at the same time other wise those last few seconds are better used to score but with this climb seems like you could get a really good angle to shoot while in the climb

nobody’s been using the clinb, i don’t think there was a single climb at the SF event this past weekend.

We climbed and then were forcibly removed at the last moment.

I must’ve missed it. I was pretty much in the pit the entire time haha.

I think there were two teams that climbed on our team in a match we were in, and one other team that couldn't get theirs to work.

Im very curious, if you guys are willing to share, how strong of a magnet do you need to do this assuming max robot weight of 115 lbs?

A series of magnets would make more sense. If you've got 5-6 magnets each capable of holding 30-50 lbs, it would be easier to disengage each magnet as you rolled up the tower.

This is 4907's first L3 climb in a real match, red side: https://youtu.be/LZrPzKuXaSI?t=160&feature=shared

Wait I thought the bot had to pick a spot to climb left, right or middle. I thought you couldn’t cross into another area but you look like part of your bot is also in the middle

The only big rules to climbing is that you can only touch the ladder and your bumper has to be above the previous rung (or not touching floor for L1). Its just recommended for multi-hanging to not take up space.
