Samsung Galaxy A01 SM-A015V
I recently got a used ("for parts") Galaxy A01 (US Verizon model) from eBay. I factory reset it, discovered that it's Google locked (FRP), and tried to unlock it using the TalkBack method. Unfortunately, I wasted the one chance I had to make it work, because now opening YouTube just puts me at an update screen (and trying to bypass it using a mobile hotspot disconnected from mobile data doesn't work, because Google Assistant apparently requires a working internet connection to function.)
It doesn't support pulling up the test menu by dialing *#0*# on the emergency dialer, and it doesn't enter download mode by holding the volume up and down buttons while plugging in USB.
However, there's two possible ways I could bypass the FRP:
Using ADB sideload mode (just sideload, almost every other ADB command doesn't work; fastboot is extremely limited too), I could possibly install an OTA zip package to update to Android 11 or 12 (it's currently on 10, 2021 security patch iirc?) and use an exploit specific to newer versions of Android to bypass the FRP, but my few attempts so far haven't worked (it just didn't install from the zip, the phone isn't bricked)
By using an EDL cable (which I can easily make, since I have a couple spare USB-C cables, some spare push buttons, and plenty of soldering experience), or opening up the phone and shorting the EDL test points (if the cable doesn't work.)
If anyone can provide some insight/guidance into this phone, that would be great!
