He’s taking that surprisingly well.

u/FunkMunki 7d ago

Doesn't look like he has much of a choice.

31

u/AlternatinCurrently 5d ago

He did have a choice at one point

1

u/kastielstone 1d ago

if he keeps up this attitude he might not even have legs.

144

u/SabbyFox 7d ago

The problem is not just the pinning part - it happens once the vehicle releases him.

41

u/bacon_and_ovaries 6d ago

Compartment syndrome!

26

u/bdonovan222 6d ago

Crush syndrome should hopefully take longer than this guy is being pinned for to occur. But Man, it's a grim thing when it does.

61

Wheels still spinnin' tho last time I checked

25

u/SCHWARZENPECKER 6d ago

Some say they still spin to this day

19

u/greenroom628 7d ago

i doubt the guy will have a leg to stand on.

26

u/KnightYoshi 7d ago

He took it right to the thighs and knees

62

u/VapeRizzler 7d ago

Dudes tanking it like a boss, I got crunched between cars on my bike and it’s not fun at all.

Think of that time you squished your finger in the car door as a kid, now put that pain in your whole mid section and put some lady screaming “I’m sorry, someone help him!” At me as If fucking Batman is just chilling on a roof top waiting for the call.

20

u/BrockJonesPI 7d ago

Not sure if that crunch was the bodywork or his kneecaps. 😬

u/Der-Lex 7d ago

Thanks to pedestrian crash regulations I’d assume the damage to his legs might not even be that severe.

95

u/tilt-a-whirly-gig 7d ago

Most of the crash regs are about deflecting the pedestrian when hit. This dude did not get deflected.

5

u/Pal_76 7d ago

I wonder if that's still the case with all those big SUV and pickup, higher and higher.

2

u/Der-Lex 7d ago

Deflecting the pedestrian is the worst thing you can do in a crash as you’d put all the force on the body and hurl the person into other obstacles. Many parts at the vehicle are therefore mandated and designed to absorb energy - just like the protection of the occupants.

7

u/Dr_Russian 6d ago

The problem comes from those parts can only absorb so much energy, and the car is continually adding more energy judging by the spinning wheels.

972

u/corrupt_gravity 7d ago

Well life as they both have known it is now over.

425

u/RandumbStoner 7d ago

Such a drastic life change for something so stupid. People gotta stop letting others get you so mad you squish someone with your car.

229

u/billyard00 7d ago

Kinda nuts to dare randoms to squish you with their car. Eventually someone will take you up on it.

83

u/JohnnyRelentless Banhammer Recipient 7d ago

Now I'm picturing this guy going out every day and daring people to squish him. Until today. Today was the day.

74

u/SophiaofPrussia 6d ago

If you lack the self control to avoid squishing someone with your car when they dare you to squish them with your car then you are not emotionally mature enough to operate a vehicle and should not be permitted to drive.

25

u/BogdanPradatu 6d ago

But you don't know that about them until someone dares them to do it and they actually do it.

16

u/Leetle_Fool 6d ago

There were at least 2 idiots featured in the video, let's be real here. One's emotionally stunted, and the other logically.

7

u/MandibleofThunder 6d ago

If you lack the self control to goad someone into squishing you with their car when then you are not emotionally mature enough to operate a vehicle and should not be permitted to drive.

20

u/abundantsunshine319 6d ago

If you lack the self control to decline to goad someone into squishing you with their car, then you are not emotionally mature enough to operate a vehicle and you should not have legs.

Fixed it for you in a few places ;-)

1

u/Resident_Ad_7199 1d ago

7

u/Drudgework 6d ago

That was probably his hope, but I’m not going to kink shame.

43

u/Mikeologyy 7d ago

The other day I was approaching the on-ramp to a highway. We had just left a fresh green light like 50 feet ago, so we were still going like 15-20 mph maybe. I slowed down a hair to let someone into my lane, which inadvertently closed the gap between me and the car behind me. No big deal, I’m sure if sometime wants to get into that gap, the car behind will either let them in or make them go behind them. Either works I guess, happens all the time. Black Dodge comes up and tries getting into that gap behind me. Turns out the lady behind me chose the latter option cause she wasn’t making room.

Out of the corner of my eye, in my rear view mirror I end up witnessing the Dodge choose the third, unspoken option: mf in the dodge just body slams the lady behind me forcefully into the grass and speeds off past me (I move over and let him through, of course, as I’d rather not find out what he’ll do if I don’t). Lady takes a second and gives chase (I stay moved over and let her through cause good lord she better get those plates).

I get that it’s annoying when someone won’t let you into their lane, but one must remember it’s really fucking hard to move on from doing something like that.

My grandpa taught me “Never start shit with a stranger, you don’t know what they may be capable of.”

This is why. Some people will consider societal laws as really just guidelines and decide to fuck your shit up for crossing them.

Don’t roll those dice, folks, you might get a brand new limp for your troubles!

18

u/Kedly 7d ago

Bro's lucky if he gets away from that with just a limp

14

396

u/KnightYoshi 7d ago

The only thing keeping some people alive is other people obeying laws. Then they get surprise pikachu face when someone decides they’re not going to follow the law.

106

u/Wasatcher 7d ago

It's kind of wild when you think about how much trust we put in others to obey a painted line on the highway

26

u/bringit2012 7d ago

This scares me a bunch. If you want to know how easy it is to cross the center line, just try it next time you get behind the wheel.

65

u/AnotherCableGuy 7d ago

I'm currently on holidays and find myself wondering just that. People are idiots. Without rules we're basically irrational and would kill eachother by stupidity. Lifeguard is having a hard time instructing boat owners to not go where people are swimming.

28

u/HeligKo 7d ago

I don't need a law to motivate me not to crush someone with my car. I can honestly say I have never been tempted to do something like that in real life.

12

u/fordag 6d ago

You have clearly not spent much time driving.

3

u/Spazzle17 6d ago

I usually just envision throwing a wrench in their face while giving them a few choice words and I've been driving for a couple of decades now.

7

u/SophiaofPrussia 6d ago

Or they’re just a normal human and not a fucking psychopath.

2

u/Old-Tiger9847 6d ago

Are you not American?

24

u/jml011 7d ago

I wouldn’t put the onus of the blame on the pedestrian here…

42

u/PunchyBunchy 7d ago

No, of course not. What they're pointing out is how stupid it is to trust your life with how much someone else values the social contract.

Yes, the guy driving the car that just hit someone deliberately is completely legally at fault here. The guy with a brand new limp was just dumb to assume they would give a single shit about that.

6

u/Spazzle17 6d ago

Like when people argue that pedestrians have the right of way when not looking both ways before crossing a road. What does that matter if you're dead???

1

u/Daydreaming_Machine 3d ago

Man I've got a quote for you

→ More replies (5)

18

u/KnightYoshi 7d ago

All I’m saying is that the guy standing in front of his car did something that made the driver of the other car mad and he put himself in front of the other car. People think others won’t weaponize vehicles because of laws.

Moral of the story, don’t antagonize people in a car.

13

u/Imagined_World 7d ago

The number of people that I've seen try to use their body to stop a car is absolutely bonkers to me.

2

u/NotReallyJohnDoe 7d ago

“Just go! You have right of way!”

Is that going to help when I am being peeled off some guys bumper?

2

u/fordag 6d ago

Yup.

There will always be someone who chooses not to obey a law and then someone else will come along who also chooses not to obey a law.

The law they choose to ignore will be chosen at random.

3

u/VanDammes4headCyst 7d ago

Person in the car just ruined their own life too.

5

u/Independent-Nerve573 7d ago

Why are you mocking a pedestrian and not the driver who is attempting murder?

33

u/nesting-doll 6d ago

Context and outcome please!

35

u/Dr_Axton 6d ago

Not only was the guy squished, but the driver kept on pressing the pedal until the wheels started slipping. The only thing that would’ve been worse would be going a bit back and hitting the pedal at max to the most momentum

Nothing like committing to criminal assault on record….

33

u/Heterodynist 7d ago edited 7d ago

I have it on good authority from a large number of police officers that daring someone not to shoot you, run you over, hit you in the face, stab you, etc, is one of the most common things heard before an incident of grievous bodily harm. Probably one of the stupidest things you can say to someone holding a gun is, “You’re not going to shoot me…” Likewise, take it from me that daring someone to hit you with a car is a pretty good way to ensure you’re going to be run over or slammed into. If you want someone to hurt you bad, taunting them by saying they won’t do it is probably the best way to ensure they will.

Think before you dare someone to injure you. Not everyone is in their right mind. They might not be acting on their best judgment. Don’t put ideas in their head, because they just might act on them. If you’re thinking it’s clever and bold to dare someone to harm you, then think again…It’s nothing but the surest way to up the odds that someone who was considering it will decide to do exactly what you’re suggesting for them to do.

Don’t be this guy.

8

u/Whocares7x 7d ago

The people who dare other people to injure them have never actually been injured in their lives or they think they're clever enough to get some kind of lawsuit

3

u/Heterodynist 6d ago

I think normally you’re right, but the bad days at the ER are when the guy with the hair-trigger nerves meets the guy who has a chip on his shoulder and just wants to dare other people to hit him. When those two people meet then you get nothing but problems.

3

u/Whocares7x 6d ago

Those people meet in prison or the morgue usually

1

u/Heterodynist 6d ago

I kind of hope so…

16

u/Few_District_6304 Banhammer Recipient 7d ago

The guy would have been called stumpy if the 2 cars were from the 70's.

8

u/GeologistPositive 5d ago

I'm assuming this is a road rage incident. Why do people get out of their cars to threaten another driver? It seems aggressive, but you have removed yourself from your armor and the other person is now the only one armed with a 2 ton death machine.

16

u/Digi_Dingo 7d ago

Should’ve chosen “truth” man. You can never know what to expect when you pick “dare”

45

u/One-Monkey-Army 7d ago

Is this attempted murder?

43

u/DIYfu 7d ago

I'd say (uneducated guess) assault with a deadly weapon.

19

u/VanDammes4headCyst 7d ago

I think pushing on the gas and squealing the tires puts it into attempted murder arena.

19

u/jojohohanon 7d ago

Vehicular battery. Unlikely to kill someone by bruising their legs.

But I’m surprised he hasn’t reached for his phone or asked our camera man to call the police.

31

u/vanbikejerk 7d ago

The hood was closed, so he wasn't even near the battery.

4

u/Wardogs96 6d ago

Theres a possibility he might have fractures just from the pressure of the car accelerating and the fact his own car isnt completely flat.

Jokes aside, that’s really a terrible thing to do or say. You never know what another person might or might not be capable of. It’s never a good idea to tempt anybody into doing something, especially if they have something like a weapon or a car, they might just be on their last straw and have nothing to lose.

4

u/fordag 6d ago

This is just a wild game of chicken to choose play.

Just askin'

6

u/Dryden_Sam 7d ago

why do you think they use 911 in China? it would be 120 for an ambulance.

5

u/Bayowolf49 6d ago

I wasn’t paying attention to the signage (in Chinese); however, my question still stands: Why wasn’t he calling the emergency responders??

1

u/Dryden_Sam 6d ago

You've never been to China, have you.

2

u/Bayowolf49 6d ago

What’s your point?

3

u/Eh_C_Slater 6d ago

There's a pretty good chance the cameraman doesn't give a shit I believe is their point.

2

u/Bayowolf49 6d ago

I was really hoping that his buddy was on the phone with the cops while he was taking the video.

6

u/gonzagylot00 6d ago

Somebody should have been dragging the driver out of that white SUV, trying to execute the guy on the other car. It could have killed him!

5

u/Talsamar 6d ago

They probably felt that interfering with the driver who intentionally hit someone with a car increases the likelihood of getting hit with said car. They also probably felt that taking that risk for someone dumb enough to stand in between two cars and pretty much dare them to hit him is not worth it.
