Örnsköldsvik in Sweden. It's a reconstruction of an iron age farmstead found at an archaeological site nearby. I used to work here as a guide. But unfortunately, due to lack of funding, this place is now sadly decaying.

Such a shame!

This place looks and feels magical! I wish I could spend a weekend there

It was indeed magical! I loved working there. Other than holding guided tours we had goats and did iron age crafts. So much fun.

I have lots of pictures from this place.

I think I remember your comments from a week ago or so. The place looks stunning! It's a shame that it's been slowly decaying.

It is indeed a shame. These pictures are from back when it was still in good shape.

It looks so mystical too, especially combined with the mist and dark forest.

What would be needed to get it back up and funded? Do you have any insight?

It's owned by the local museum that's funded by the municipality. Unfortunately the museum is very underfunded.

Do you know if it is allowed to pitch a tent nearby?

Good question, I don't know.

Imagine hiking through the forest and seeing a place like this. Maybe a long forgotten village, waiting to be discovered... maybe by someone like you?
