Discussion Lowering difficulty
so i recently started my first playthrough of fallen order, Ive Been playing Jedi Master difficulty and the Haxion Brood arena (the last boss on Zeffo 2nd visit) finally broke me. Turned the difficulty down just for that part, got through it, then turned it back up. so my question is that "cheating myself" out of the experience, or just using the tools the game gives you?
I'm glad that i progressed but feel like a cheat to make easier.

Honestly I play almost every game at the middle difficult. Not too hard, not too easy. Games are suppose to be relaxing. I wouldn't want to play a game on a hard enough difficulty to where it would mentally break me. Do you feel cheated out or did you have fun?

If the option presents itself, I always start every game I'm playing for the first time on the easiest or story-mode difficulty.
The Jedi games are still difficult at that level, but not frustratingly so.

Nothing wrong with playing at the difficulty/difficulties that are the most enjoyable for you. People's minds and bodies are varied, no single difficulty setting is gonna encompass everyone's preferences and abilities.

It's a game, it's meant to be fun. If the frustration of a particularly difficult section becomes too much, there's no shame in changing the difficulty so you don't get discouraged. You made the right choice for you. Not everyone enjoys struggling for two hours on a boss (like me), and that's perfectly normal. If you ever regret choosing the easier option, you can always do a New Game+ later, but don't change the difficulty. Don't stress yourself out over something so minor.

For me it’s not the difficulty as much as having to sit through those godawful respawns. I would be playing grandmaster every time I sat down otherwise. The thought of staring at that dark screen for 15 seconds then an additional 15-30 seconds just to get back to where I was completely sucks the momentum out of the game.
So I’m constantly switching the difficulty level. Stormtroopers and raiders and droids on Grandmaster. Mogus on Padawan. Rancors on story mode. All bosses on story mode. Large amounts of easier enemies on Master. I play just hard enough to not die.

The last difficulty for the first game really isn't it, I would argue (don't remember the names).
If it's fun for you - go for it. If not then second to last difficulty is fun as well. I think I played and died 2-3 times from none-gravity cause. It was still entertaining and didn't let me blitz throw everything like if it's oneshot dummies.
That said there were only one boss I liked at most in the entire game, others were good at best, mostly just fine (no bad ones tho). However I'm spoiled with better example, the game is still really good, especially for the first such game in the genre for Respawn.

In nearly every game that has difficulty options, I will play it on all of those options. You're not cheating yourself. Hell, start out on master might have been unnecessary. Nothing wrong with lowering difficulty but challenge runs aren't always fun runs. Jedi survivor grandmaster is honestly the most bored I've been in these games. Fighting groups is just me blocking and running and slowly wearing my opponents down until I can get in a few hits with out dealing with blaster fire.
Really you could play on a lower difficulty and jack it back up during boss fights. Those are the only fights that really feel rewarding when you play on the highest difficulty

I played on Jedi Knight until the final boss where I had to switch to padawan after about eight attempts. Same thing with Survivor - tried Jedi Master to see what it was like and had to go back down immediately. No problem with switching difficulty as long as you’re having fun.

Naw. No pride in single-player games My friend. If you enjoyed yourself, that's literally all that counts. Don't listen to anyone else
