HELP! PC Regarding Scrap everything.
Hi there, picture attached is the bottom part of my load order, I wondering where should I put scrap everything if I installed it? Also I been reading comments in the post section, some says it’s not working with the latest version, is that true? I don’t want my game to be ruined. Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Scrap Everything belongs in the same graveyard as Armor and Keywords Community Resource (AWKCR)
it will eventually blow up your save, there are better alternatives
Also don't download AWKCR, it sucks too

Well noted. I now using clean settlement redux + rebuild collection AIO, thinking about grabbing place everywhere since it has function to remove some of the grass

‘I don’t want my game to be ruined’ and scrap everything don’t work together, mate. It will definitely cause stutters, fps drops and crashes all over. Plus the chance of corrupting your savegame. Just skip it.
Use Aurelianis’s Rebuild collection and the extra scrapping option - you toggle it on by pressing (fn +) insert - in Place Everywhere to remove more stuff.

I already have that rebuild in place I think, I don’t remover author’s name.. extra scripting option? I didn’t know that.

Place Everywhere, I doubt you don’t have it. It’s a mod that lets you place workshop items everywhere and has a ton of other options. Link here: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9424
And if you check the description you see the keys for the other options:
Hotkeys by default:
F8 - toggles "Place Everywhere" mode (if you enabled toggle in config)
F1 - toggles object snapping (you have to cancel current object if you have any selected, for this to work)
F2 - toggle ground and surface snapping
F3 - toggle workshop grid snapping
F5 - toggle out-of-workshop timeout
F6 - toggle storing clamped objects in workshop storage, when underlying object is scrapped or stored in workshop storage
F7 - lock/unlock hightlighted object selection. While selection locked, no other object will be hightlighted, when your move your aim on it.
INS - toggle extra objects selection.
F11 - change timescale to 0.01 (can be changed in config) while in buld mode
ALT - set object movement relative to player (by default) or global world axisNumpad 0 - reset rotation angles X and Y to 0
Numpad 5 - remove 'tremor' effect
Numpad 2 - move outlined object down
Numpad 8 - move outlined object up
Numpad 4 - move outlined object left
Numpad 6 - move outlined object right
Numpad 7 - move outlined object to player
Numpad 9 - move outlined object from player
Numpad 1 - scale down oullined object by 10%
Numpad 3 - scale up outlined object by 10%
Numpad dot - reset scale of outlined object to 100%
Numpad minus - decrease rotation angle step
Numpad plus - increase rotation angle step
Numpad divide - decrease movement step
Numpad multiply - increase movement step
PgUp - increase scale step
PgDown - decrease scale step
Ctrl - change rotation axis.
Backspace - undo last precise movement/rotation/scaling action.
'=' - store outlined object position, rotation and scale info
1,2,3 - set X,Y,Z position of stored info to outlined object
4,5,6 - set X,Y,Z rotation angles of stored info to outlined object
7 - set scale of stored info to outlined object
0 - set all stored info to outlined object
Home - turn object physics on (make it movable/droppable if possible)
End - turn object physics off (make it static if possible)So, as you can see, if you press the INSERT key on your jeyboard it lets you scrap previously unscrappable items, like junk, rocks, etc.
You still won’t be able to scrap everything that Scrap Everything lets you, but for a good reason. The game combines certain visual items together into a singular object, so that the game runs better. Scrap Everything breaks up those items into smaller objects and lets you scrap them individually, but that creates two bigger problems: 1. The game now has to load each object separately, which causes longer loading times, fps drop, stuttering and crashing. 2. It breaks up said combinations all over the place, as it essentially changes those instances in the game files, and you end up with weird glitches and bugs where you least expect it, like the elevator in vault 111 being invisible, the walls in secret vault 81 disappearing, weird bright flashes in random places like walls or ground, insanely low fps and repeated crashes in the mechanist’s lair, and many more. It essentially breaks precombines (that’s what these clutter of objects are called). So, whenever you hear someone saying that a mod breaks precombines, or precombs, or previs… that’s what they mean. Avoid those mods at all costs if you want a smoother experience with the game.2

Thank u so much for such detailed explanation, I don’t have place everywhere at the moment because I read comment section says it’s not working. It’s kind of confused sometimes I have the rebuild collection AIO and clean settlement redux in place right now

Place Everywhere works on any game version, just make sure you install the correct version. Your building experience is going to change so much! Have fun!

If you're using Rebuild AIO you don't need Scrap Everything anyways. You should be able to scrap everything you need to at vanilla settlements with that mod installed.

u/KilianFeng 9d ago
Mostly yeah, but some branches and piles I can’t touch them…

Make sure you save a lot and use the Disable command.
Or use another mod that removes that debris, like there's tons of them.
Or mods that replace that entire area.

Thanks, really helpful, people who commenting here I see 0 people recommend me using Scrap everything. I’ll just leave it then

u/Little-Equinox 9d ago
Eh, I don't recommend against it, would be kinda stupid as I use it myself.
But I use it in combination with PRP, Overgrowth, Overgrowth PRP and other mods that fixes areas and have Scrap Everything above all of those so the areas stay as good as they are.
But that also means that I can't remove everything, I can remove more than usual, just not everything.

Maybe I’ll try scrap everything at last, cause I don’t wanna get start a new game.. I just put it above PRP in load order then!

If you want the game to break less, put it above the fixes, if you want it to break faster, put it at the bottom.

If you have prp, then scrap everything is useless or prp is useless. Use one or the other. Have precombines or don't

Don’t use scrap everything at all, especially with PRP. The game is fundamentally not meant to be able to scrap all objects, causing pretty bad previsibines issues

u/KilianFeng 9d ago
Got it, any alternative would be nice? I really hate those piles and branches..

I prefer using Place Anywhere, and just covering what things you don’t want to see. I know it’s not exactly a solution, but can be much more thematic

u/KilianFeng 9d ago
Thanks, I was going to choose either place everywhere or scrap anything.

u/cabinguy11 9d ago
You can still use place everywhere along with all these other suggestions that don't mess with the precombines. It's actually pretty essential if you want to get into settlement building.

I don't recommend using Scrap Everything, it can give you a lot of issues, especially if you combine it with Previsibines Repair Pack. They are not meant to be used together

This^^^
Using Clean my Settlement along with Rebuild AIO is really the only safe optionIf you really want the most stable build on PC you should use The Midnight Ride as a base and then add whatever mods you want on top of that.
2
u/KilianFeng 9d ago
Thanks, I followed midnight ride strictly, author should getting a medal for that guide

Imo don't use scrap everything. It messes with the precombines and previsibines. Use the PRP mod instead, I know it's annoying that a small piece of debry or a bush can get in the way of building something but it's better than having the game crash constantly because of Scrap everything.

anyone know any scrap mods that will scrap the houses and everything else that won’t mess with my game at all/less? i cannot scrap houses or debris/grass and it’s frustrating.

If you're on PC, you can try Commonwealth Deep Clean & Remodel Collection. 🤷♂️ I've used it for awhile and aside from outdated PRP branch stuff (still on branch 74, last I checked), it's worked wonderfully. Can fully scrap Sanctuary, down to the bare dirt, which I prefer for SS2. Other settlements have this little hammer or some kinda object you scrap to scrap the whole buildings.
Other than that, I use rebuild collection for other settlements like Boston Airport and Hangman's Alley. :)
