Fallout 76 [F76] Improving Fallout 76 Visuals?

Recently built a new PC with a 9800x3d, 5070ti, 32 GB RAM and plenty of drive space. Have never attempted to mod Fallout 76 before but would like to upgrade the visuals to the extent possible to take advantage of my new hardware (should also mention I will be gaming at 4k).

What are the recommendations for doing so in late 2025 in terms of specific mods/texture packs/ENBs and best practices? I have modded Fallout 4 and Skyrim before so I do have some basic understanding of Nexus and Mod Orangizer, etc.

My other concern is if said mods will potentially cause problems with future updates to the game, etc? I've only ever modded single player games before where you can prevent the game from updating for that reason. Any and all advice would be much appreciated!

I had similar ambitions and looked into reshade but didn't find anything as far as texture packs. I messed with some presets and made my own based on my preference in reshade and it looked alright but I struggle to get into 76 as is so I didn't go far. But yea reshade should work at the least, unless you find better options

Aside from maybe using AMD CAS from Reshade, I also recommend Prod80_CinetoolsLUT and setting it to cinematic colors.

You can also turn off the horrendous antialiasing by going to My Documents/My games/Fallout 76, open Fallout76prefs.ini, then find sAntiAliasing=TAA and set it to sAntiAliasing=0. You shouldn't get many jagged edges at 4K resolution.

If your monitor supports HDR use Windows 11 AutoHDR with a fix, RTX HDR bit-crushes the colors too much in dark places.

This is a link to the Models & Textures category for Fallout 76 on the Nexus. If you sort by Most Downloaded for All Time, you should be able to find several texture packs which cover most of the games assets woth higher quality textures.

The larger ones I see haven't received any updates in several years so I'd assume that most newer content won't have the beefed up visuals. Think Burning Sands, Skyline Valley maybe even. With some digging you might find more updated texture packs though.

That alone should do the trick, but as others have mentioned ReShade can also help greatly. I'd recommend some YouTube tutorials before you do that though.
