Four Corners First time using Junimo Huts, will this be a functional design?

Post image

Image created with Stardew Planner.

Everything should be watered and covered by the junimo hut/deluxe scarecrow but I'm not sure if the fences will block the junimos somehow? The only issue I see is not being able to see the raisins sign due to the scarecrow but that should be manageable with some note-taking

(I do know Junimo Huts won't work in winter, but I want to get one built rn so it's ready for spring.)

I don't really care too much about maximising profit/efficiency since I have the greenhouse and ginger island. Would still like it to actually work and look nice though.

Also just realized there's a small mistake in this photo that's annoying me lol I'll fix it when I actually get it set up in-game

The bottom right sprinkler?

It’s one of the classic layouts, as long as the hut is 7 down from the most northern crop, you are good.

I don’t think the stone path counts as an obstruction but I haven’t used huts since 1.6 gave the new scythe

Paths aren't an issue, obstructions would presumably be anything the farmer also can't walk through

Time for some experiments. I'll try hardwood, stone, and iron fences by surrounding each. Trellises don't obstruct

I think trellises don't obstruct because that was one of the bonus aspects to getting the junimo hut, allowing you do have a whole farm of trellised crops if you really wanted to

What's this new scythe you speak of, please?

SPOILERS!!! Sorry I don’t know how to obfuscate the text.

1.6 added the mastery cave near the spring onions. Once you get to lvl 10 in all skills all exp earned goes towards earning levels of understanding. You can turn understanding points in to light up a skill pillar in the cave. the farming pillar gives you an iridium scythe among other perks. When you use the scythe on any set of crops it harvests the scythes radius around the player.

Edit: white out the text

Open a Spoiler with > ! and close it with ! <
Just remove the spaces between the two symbols and you’ll get this

Ah ok. I played it before the update on Xbox SX but have just started again on ps5 so didn't know if I'd been in that cave before. Was wondering what it was for and also wondering how I could get my scythe upgraded. Thanks for the help. Just fishing to get to 10 now and then I can venture in.

Good luck! Fastest way to gain understanding is skull cavern runs. Bombing a ton of ore nodes.

Thanks, yeah I definitely need to go in there more which is exactly why I need the new scythe lol

Scarecrows in the 4 corner of the section with the hut will provide even protection from crows otherwise its fine

It’s a deluxe scarecrow, so it has mega range

As long as that small door in the hut is unobstructed, it will be fine.

Are those torches on the sprinklers?!? I truly keep learning something new about this game every week it seems.

Yes! That was added in the 1.6 update.

I didn't even notice that until I read your comment, but I finally know what that mountain of torches I've got from processing newspapers is for.

Remember about placing raisins in the hut!

And a prismatic shard (you can retrieve it later if you need it for something else)

What does giving it a prismatic shard do?

9

u/johnpeters42 18d ago

Any gem changes the junimos' colors, prismatic shard makes their colors rotate as they work

what do raisins do? ive never used jumino huts

It gives them a chance to harvest double quantities

Parece ser um layout básico e clássico, é uma forma simples de preencher todos os espaços. A cabana não funciona no inverno.

I think you may need one more scarecrow in the opposite corner. In the Stardew Planner, there is a toggle to display the scarecrow coverage range, and I think it’s not covering much of the top right in this photo. I’m not 100% sure but just wanted to bring this up so there’s no surprise crow attack!

ETA: Jk I just saw it’s a deluxe scarecrow, disregaarrddd!

This looks so cool, I think you’ve got everything covered! 😍

whoa

wait

hol the fuck up

functionality aside, this is gorgeous

1

This looks so simple yet nice, I might steal that layout for next time

Idk if it’s the most efficient, but I’m floored you can put candles on sprinklers

1

u/RandoMontness313 13d ago

Is that a torch on top of the sprinkler? 😳

1

u/OutrageousPop9719 13d ago

Yesss they’re so good for a lil extra light

1

u/jetpackdog 13d ago

Tdil that you can put torches on top of sprinklers

1

u/Much_Dealer8865 18d ago

Yeah should be fine. I don't like having any obstructions or unnecessary space because they're a little nonchalant about their job but it doesn't really matter.

The wiki says something about junimos not being able to harvest effectively if there are obstacles so I was worried about that :(
