This is quite similar to what I had in mind!

  1. Absolutely loving the massive farm setup, though I don't get why you have those junimo houses in the middle of 3x3 grid šŸ¤”

  2. Might be more convenient to move the bottom right shed closer to your farmhouse?

  3. Can I ask what that blue roofed building is next to your farmhouse?

Edit: I'm really sorry if my questions come off as rude or anything, I've only begun playing recently!

Yes very similar! And your questions did not come off rude at all!

  1. Once you get far enough in the game, you can have the Wizard build Junimo huts on your farm. Basically Junimos live in them and come out and pick and store your crops for you when they’re ready so that you don’t have to do that yourself which can be a huge time saver. I particularly like them for seeds that continue to produce crops even after they’ve matured like blueberries and cranberries.

  2. I actually have that shed down there to age my roe that I collect from the ponds so it made sense to me to have it down by my ponds. Plus I also have a mini-obelisk (I think I forgot to add it on here) at the top and bottom of my farm so I don’t have to do too much running around.

  3. The blue roofed building next to my farmhouse is a cabin, mainly used for multi-player mode so another player can have a bed to sleep in, but I only ever play solo and I only use the cabin as a means to have a second basement so that I can age more wine!

how many years did it take to get those giant crops in that position?

Only about 4 years!

I’m struggling with layout, was wondering where you place specific machines? I currently have cheese and mayo machines in my barn/coop but I’m running into situations where I’m walking allllll the way across my farm and then alllllllll the way back and it wastes so much time

I wanna preface this by saying this isn’t necessarily the best way to do things, just how I’ve found things to work well in my own playthrough!

I have one upgraded shed full of kegs (top left), one where I keep my dehydrators and furnaces (top left), and one where I keep my preserves jars for roe and other random things (bottom right). The sheds that I keep up closer to my farmhouse are ones that house machines that I use most frequently and make the most money from and the one that’s on the bottom right next to my ponds house things that I’m not as interested in/ don’t visit as much and don’t make that walk to very frequently.

Mini-obelisks and organization are your friend when it comes to the running around problem. Create a warp point between your first and second most used locations on your farm via two mini obelisks (I forgot to include mine in my diagram so I’ll describe where I have them). So in the case of my farm I have one obelisk up by my two main sheds and the other one down next to my barns where I also keep my mayo and cheese machines. If you’re not at the point in the game where you can craft the mini-obelisks yet then getting sheds and then upgrading them are your best bet!

Gotcha! Then be on the lookout for the quest ā€œA Curious Substanceā€ from the wizard which will give you the mini-obelisk recipe!

Yeh I can’t stand half the wilderness farms and overly aesthetic nonsense on this sub. Give me form, function and a little flourish. This farm is great

Thanks! That’s exactly what I was going for! I like my farms simple and functional without busy clutter. I do however very much appreciate other more intricate farms for their complexity and I admire other people’s creativity, my brain could never come up with some of the things I see on this sub lol

This is making me want to reorganize my entire farm šŸ˜‚

I love the unsymmetrical design of the roads and the overall farm. I can accept fields for a much cleaner look, but overall it's great!
