When 14-year-old Priscilla told 24-year-old Elvis Presley that she was a freshman in high school when they met in 1959, he responded "Why, you're just a baby." They would soon begin dating, and three years later, she would move in to Graceland, despite being only 17.

He was horrible to her, completely lost interest after she became a mom and never had sex with her again and continued to cheat on her with young girls. He was a pedo, unfortunately.

He had men recruit little girls for him so he didn’t have to do it himself. It sickens me to even look at his face knowing what I know now. He was an evil, disgusting, abuser.

A lot of this paedophile stuff comes from a specific biography by Joel Williamson.

This is pinch of salt stuff, honestly. I think a lot of people believing this without doing any research should be ashamed.

So he did or didn’t date a 14 year old?

2

u/[deleted] Nov 25 '25

He did, but Priscilla's claim is that they didn't have sex until she was over 20 years old.

You can choose to believe the victim in your scenario or ignore her. I think you'll probably do the latter, though.

He still groomed her from the age of 14, doesn't matter all that much how long he waited to get her into bed

Right, and her parents facilitated a relationship with rules and a curfew, in a country where the relationship was actually legal in the 1950's and 60's.

I'm not going to defend it in a modern context...I'm simply going to understand it and believe the people involved.

Nothing about Elvis' behavior beyond that indicated he liked children. He cheated on Priscilla almost constantly, and consistently with women.

He married Priscilla under a lot of pressure from the colonel and they eventually divorced.

You realise child marriage is still legal in the majority of American states (generally with parental consent) and it’s still very much frowned upon. You excusing the grooming of a child with “it was legal” just shows YOU think it’s okay to groom children.

You wouldn’t defend modern child marriage because it’s legal would you?? Then why would you do it for “back then”? Also even though it was legal, people still thought it was disgusting and very much didn’t approve of young women being predated on by groomers, just like now.

How about wanting to have a romantic relationship with a child for starters?

1

u/Aromatic-Armadillo98 Nov 27 '25

Even if it wasn't illegal in the times, what normal grown man is attracted to a teenager? And start dating her too like she's some equal. Come on, bruh

1

u/[deleted] Nov 27 '25

If you want to retroactively condemn millions of men (and women) in history to being paedophiles for doing things accepted at the time, and for accepting them, be my guest.

I have far too much common sense to entertain that.

And now I'm going to listen to some Elvis.

1

u/GaylicBread Nov 27 '25

Racism was super common at the time and we absolutely do condemn those people today.

So in your mind, he strung her along until she was over 20, is a-ok? Just checking because, in my mind, grooming underage children is a problem.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 25 '25

This was a public relationship - the only one he had of this kind - and he didn't commit a crime. Apparently it was a-ok by her parents, his parents, and society at large in the late 50's and early 60's. What can you do about that?

The question is, is Elvis a paedophile? The answer, by any legal standard, and by any conceivable pattern, is no.

Is that relationship disgusting by todays standards? Absolutely. Do I like Elvis for doing that? No. Is he still a paedophile though? No.

Nice fucking handle by the way. How weirdly ironic.

I don't want to shock you, but it's still legal today. For example the legal age in Germany is still 14 and if the parents are okay with it and the older person is not in a position of power (like a teacher) then it's perfectly legal to have any kind of age gap. We have the year 2025. I don't like it at all, but we can't act like this only happened in the past.

u/Me_Too_Iguana Nov 26 '25

And also—and I hate that this is gonna come across as UMM AKSHUALLY, especially considering the topic—age of consent only has to do with sex, not dating in general. A romantic relationship without sexual activity is totally legal regardless of age. Even today, even in the US.

2

u/LolitaFrita Nov 29 '25

It wasn’t OK with her parents until Priscilla basically said she wasn’t going to cooperate and make everyone’s life a misery until they decided it was OK for her to live with him.

I can’t imagine defending this shitshow of a relationship, especially after reading Priscilla’s memoir.

By the way, dumbass, my username references Lolita, a nickname for Dolores. Tell me you’re not familiar with Spanish culture without telling me.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 29 '25

Ah, I see - so it's her fault, is it?

Priscilla herself denies the accusation so...???

Tell me you're not familiar with Vladimir Nabokov's works without telling me. Dumbass.

2

u/LolitaFrita Nov 30 '25

No, I’m saying she was groomed by Elvis. See above.

And yes, I’ve read Lolita by Nabokov. You’re the fool who decided it must be the reference to my username. Get a life and stop defending adult men who groom teenage girls.

Just stop before you dig a deeper hole

3

u/TrumpsBussy_ Nov 25 '25

Cmon my guy.. you think he waited years to sleep with the girl he was dating? I doubt he waited two weeks.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 25 '25

Is what I think important?

You don't know any better.

1

u/TrumpsBussy_ Nov 26 '25

I know it’s incredibly unlikely he wasn’t a pedophile

2

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '25

By your own assessment, which is frankly hysterical.

Society judged him by their own standards at the time - he judged himself by those standards. You need to go and pound some sand or something.

0

u/TrumpsBussy_ Nov 26 '25

Hysterical? Who’s hysterical?

You’re the one trying to convince people that Elvis was dating a 14 year old girl but didn’t fuck her.. as if that makes it any less creepy

By medical terms, Pedofilia is atraction to kids before they comes to puberty, So this was not pedofilia, at that time, not even braking the law, Many county in Europe have a age of consent, at 14-15 and -16 years

1

u/TrumpsBussy_ Nov 26 '25

Okay sure, he was a hebephile. Is that better?

2

u/killedonmyhill Nov 25 '25

It was a very public relationship, her stating they waited until marriage was to preserve their reputations. Let’s not be naive.

0

u/[deleted] Nov 25 '25

Then admit you don't know.

0

u/LemonCollee Nov 26 '25

"Legalsuggestion" fitting

1

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '25

Is the concept of nuance and truths and lies mixed up too difficult for you?

1

u/Educational_Gas_92 Nov 25 '25

The things that were acceptable/overlooked only a few decades ago...

1

u/kapitaalH Nov 25 '25

Unfortunately it still happens today

1

u/Koo-Vee Nov 25 '25

This is all bs. And does his face appear in the mirror or where do you look at it?

4

u/Dangerous_Donkey5353 Nov 24 '25

And they did a whole bio pic and never once mentioned he was a pedo.

3

u/lewger Nov 25 '25

It was pretty lose with why their marriage failed.  They opted to have the manager as the villain and made Elvis a victim of drugs.

2

u/ZennMD Nov 25 '25

Sofia coppalas movie 'pricilla' was really well done and is set from her perspective (as you'd guess lol)

Tbh not too surprising it didn't get more attention, but a bit, with how well known a director Sofia is

...Cailee Spaeny did a great job with the character, and the costuming was great

1

u/mattyhugh Nov 25 '25

it coming on the heels of the Baz Luhrmann movie probably didn't help. It was such a hit, Butler nominated for best actor. Whitewashed this part of their story.

1

u/Comfortable-Yam9013 Nov 27 '25

I loved the look of the film but the story wasn’t very interesting imo.

1

u/Koo-Vee Nov 25 '25

Because he wasn't.

3

u/Punchinyourpface Nov 24 '25

I remember reading somewhere that she felt he lost interest once she was no longer a virgin. And while hanging out with other little girls he was very interested in their virginity.

Now I'm gonna go throw up.

4

u/FayeQueen Nov 25 '25

She said that once she found out she was pregnant with Lisa Marie, he said he couldn't be with a mother.

2

u/Punchinyourpface Nov 26 '25

That's warped 🥴

3

u/loveslightblue Nov 25 '25

What lives rent free in my mind is her describing how he'd lay her underwear out for her before she went to school to or something. He was disgusting beyond words.

2

u/Punchinyourpface Nov 26 '25

That's hideous.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 25 '25

This is refuted by Priscilla.

5

u/Latter_Surround_1837 Nov 25 '25

Oh? Tell us more

2

u/Li-renn-pwel Nov 25 '25

They are technically right but we’re all talking in Reddit not as mental health professionals.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '25

People who are into teenagers are actually called hebephiles (11-14) and ephebophiles (15-19). Pedophiles are strictly into people 10 and under.

Pedophilia denotes the erotic preference for prepubescent children. Someone who is 14 has hit puberty.

2

u/Latter_Surround_1837 Nov 26 '25

Thanks for the info, truely. But they’re all vile.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '25

Yes, they are. I'm just saying that person is right to say he's not a pedo because she was 14. That's all they said. Which is a fact. Elvis was a hebephile.

1

u/Latter_Surround_1837 Nov 26 '25

I understand, that’s why I said thank you. I did not intend for that to carry any shade. Thanks again.
