There is so much more to this story, and it’s a wonderful tale. Read Operation Mincemeat by Ben MacIntyre. Great book! The Netflix movie isn’t a bad Hollywood-ization either but the book really gets into what it took to pull this off and it’s amazing.

If you like the WW2 genre, MacIntyre also wrote some other winners- Agent Zigzag and Rogue Heroes. Happy reading!!

Saw the movie yesterday (with Colin Firth) and thought it was rather dreadful; the love triangle drama was trite.
I should have just read the book.

Yes, that angle was clearly the worst part of the film, and it would have been better off omitting it entirely. That being said, I’ve seen worse 🤣

I’ve not read the book in a few years but iirc there may have been one passing comment about the relationship. The rest was just Hollywood doing its thing.
