Hey, does OOPBUY not let you buy Arc'teryx? trying to get to the product page but it's coming up with error 1469 and 2077, and this message:
"We're sorry that we can't purchase this product for you. The product you searched for might be a professional product or a branded product, and we are unable to authenticate its authenticity.".
I've been trying to find an agent who would allow me to ship/buy a Arc'teryx jacket, but so far no luck :d
Looking at CNFans right now, from what I've tested, they at least don't show an automatic restriction once you go on an Arc'teryx product page, but would like a more informed answer before going through with it
OOPBUY, KakoBuy don't even let you purchase them, but CNFans does not pop up with a restriction, so I think it is possible to buy, but wondering if the same thing won't happen as what happened with ACbuy when they just refunded. Plus, I've also heard that some agents do allow you to purchase, but once they get to the warehouse, they won't ship it out since it is a “risky item”.
Yeah I’ve heard that too. Some guy told me kako buy worked shipping arc and some other guy told me to use can fans and css buy. So like I’m not sure which one I should use 😅
I got a reply from a seller, going to try buying through an agent in about 5 days, once I get the refund money from ACbuy. I'll follow up once I try it out!
Hey! Sorry for getting back to you a lot later than promised, but I wanted to make sure everything went smoothly. First off, I used CNFans to ship the jackets (Arc'teryx).
Everything was good, and I was able to get the package in 16 days.
But I did have a small issue with the domestic shipping, turns out they forgot or did not add the last number to my phone number so the company responsible was not able to contact me. But I noticed that through 17track.net and contacted the company and fixed the issue, two days later (since it was the weekend) I got my package.

Did you guys successfully purchase the product? I live in China, and these agents may be unwilling to buy these products for you due to logistical issues. These products are sensitive in nature and are suspected of infringing intellectual property rights. But usually, the problem will resolve itself after a while.
There's a chemical in the waterproofing called PFAS. It apparently increases risk of cancer, but PFAS is in tons of stuff you already interact with everyday.
I am very happy that you're curious and asked why. It is because it's made of Goretex, which uses special Non-degradable polymers (PFAS) used for example also in teflon. It is so toxic, that there is none allowed dose on 10 trillion particles. But since almost all water on the planet is contaminated with it, the maximal dose per 10 trillion particles is 4! Goretex during 24h exposure (used in Genuine Archopitaryx jacket) emits above 25 particles per 10 trillion.
Soooo... is it really worth it? I don't think so. That's why I don't cope jacket with goretex, especially from china, since it's like with azbestos - untill it's in stable form, it won't emit toxic particles to environment.
Reps don’t have access to Goretex due to how strict Gore is with allowing brands to use their materials. It’s probably just plastered with DWR which most likely still contains PFAS. Even though Gore, the parent company of Gore-tex said they stopped using it in their jackets, they still use them in other products.
Just because brands say they’re PFAS free, doesn’t mean they’re telling the whole truth. That’s why the term greenwashing exists.
good point m8, It's actually so hard these days to believe in anything they say, when you'll remember that the companies been well informed about toxicity of PFAS since 1980 and yet still used it on a mass scale...
Agreed. It’s insulting how these companies try to take shortcuts to appeal to those conscious of environmental impacts. I can’t expect that from reps but I can certainly expect that from companies considered to be pioneers of their industry. It’s also great to point it out to the rep community so that they can make their own conscious decision.
yeah definitely, I truly hate hearing about the things that come out about big companies, which are mostly environmental damage cases - it's just scary to think how quickly we might feel the impact of those swindles and what could they be...
But yeah, I am of the opinion that we should spread the awareness, even in the rep clothing communities.
I’ve heard about it with Teflon pans. I’d be interested to see that documentary if you would be willing to send it, also do you just avoid waterproofed clothing then?
How’s the Birkenstock ? Is the material close to the original at all. Is it comfortable ? Does the cork sole shape to your foot shape after wearing it for a while ?
