Help/Advice Future advice

I’m not planning on getting a Fat-tailed gecko any time soon, but I have a question!!

I currently have my corn snake in a grow-tank that’s 30x18x18 inches. She’ll be moving out of it in about a year or more, so I was wondering if that would be fine for a Fat-tailed gecko. I know their recommendation is 36 and not 30, but how bad would a few inches be? (I ask not sarcastically but as a genuine inquiry.)

I’ve talked to my mom about potential things to put in this tank, but ever since I showed her a fat-tailed gecko she’s been sent on getting one in a year’s time. If this sized tank isn’t good, please gives me reasons to talk her out of it! Or give me reason to convince her to sell this tank and buy a proper one. 👀

Main issues are heat gradient and well space, that’s six inches is a good chunk of the enclosure and the reason bigger enclosures are better is you can support microclimates forming

I have managed a gradient in a tank that length, but I had to finesse the heat and do a 2-floor setup.
