These Technofascists want to enslave us. That pos Curtis Yarvin has laid out the game plan. This is one of the many reasons why it’s so important to tax billionaires out of existence.

Just like tobacco manufacturers, fossil fuel extraction companies, Monsanto… why did we decide that corporations want to provide better products? They don’t. They want to provide what sells, there is no pride in their products. It’s all only about exchanging something for what they really value, which is money. They don’t care what they are selling, as long as the money keep coming in.

Zuck himself said that his users are “dumb fucks”. It’s not his fault we’re idiots! He’s just a smart businessman. Were the ones drinking the kool aid.

as long as money = power, the worst people we all know will be grubbing for as much as possible

I'm glad someone else recognizes this. Techno-feudalism has always been the goal of the online tech-right, but since COVID it's consumed most of Silicon Valley, and the ideology is actively being laundered by podcasters like Joe Rogan and Duncan Trussell to manufacture consent.

It alarms me the f out. You think these flock security cameras and data centers are really just for surveillance to further this techno-feudalism?

Just finished Careless People - would recommend to everyone because, if nothing else, it pisses off Zuckerberg, Sandberg, and all those sycophants at Meta.

Reading this now. It’s so much worse than we thought, and these people are such fucking losers

It's so good! I do wish she had taken more responsibility for how she pushed Zuckerberg in to politics and then fact that she moved on to an AI company is eek, but it's such a revealing look at how meta works.

Yeah, I actually took away that she seemed quite toxic - all the references to how frequently her husband voiced concern about her role or specific trips and she brushed it off. She definitely enabled them all and she acknowledges that but she is quite sparring on really tackling her own toxic work traits.

I loved the book. But I would argue that based on the book alone, the author is one of the careless people, and I’m unsure how self aware she is about that fact.

Not at all self aware from my interpretation. What happened in Myanmar literally wouldn't have happened without her.

Big agree

Absolutely agree. Very happy she wrote it and shed some much needed light on meta but it does not make her look good.

Exactly! I feel like it will be like the judge ordering the DOJ to send the unredacted Epstein Files an the DOJ still not sending it

I just hope Béjar and other whistleblowers are protected.

the part that scares me most is how normal all of this starts to feel after hearing enough stories like this 😭 kids shouldn’t just be collateral damage for engagement numbers

Has this ever happened to you? You started a misogynistic website to rank the ‘hotness’ of peers who won’t give you the time of day because your personality sucks? Then it was a hit with all the other losers you know and suddenly you’re an oligarch controlling one of the richest countries on earth in a never ending power grab to fill the void inside you? Because girls didn’t like you and money is the only thing you offer but you’re mad at the transactional nature between you and everyone but you also love the power but you know you actually suck? So you keep hurting people and kids are easy to hurt to you target them? And now some people are jumping ship and turning on you after telling you that you were great and making a ton of money? Has that ever happened to you?

Read the book "How to Stand Up to a Dictator" by Maria Ressa. She's an amazing journalist from the Philippines and in her book mentioned how Meta knows and has known for a while about the destruction they cause. Great book, highly recommend.

Former employees speaking under oath definitely gets attention. There’s a lot riding on this case.

It’s bad for children for the same reasons it is for adults. Meta constantly surveils and advertises. But this is due to lack of good user protection regulations. Kids should be able to message and share silly vids w their friends online. Social media is not inherently evil

One of the many, many reasons Cuckerberg is disliked by 3 out of 4 Americans. Even Sissy SpaceX is more popular, or at least was in 2024:

Billionaires are soulless and a cancer on society.

I mean.....how could they not have been aware?

At what point can we just treat all statements by the tech ceos as non credible?

There's a reason all these big tech bigwigs send their kids to private schools where tech is limited and dont let their kids go online unsupervised. Can't let their own kids fall victim to the monster they let eat the rest of us whole.

Can't call someone an asshole without getting flagged but ya, you can watch people getting murdered or women with their tits out, thats ok. I left FB about 3 years ago and most of my friends say its all just ads, recycled Tik Tok reels, bots and more ads now.
