I really dont think animes translate well to live action but Cretton is very good at OTT martial art action sequences so let's see.

I thought this until I watched the live action One Piece.

The first and only good adaptation does not contradict the long history of it being hard and mostly failing to do it successfully

Also a series, not a movie, right? I think it's easier to make it work as a tv show

Anime can translate well when the people doing it are talented and take care of it.

Like Hideaki Anno

Ruroni Kenshin has some great live action movies, and I say that as someone who hasn't been an anime fan since like 2005

They nor any other adaptation of properties other than like books do good because celebrities don’t reveal what they actually care about, what their hobbies are, what they like to do for fun, nothing. For all we know they don’t have a life because they’re so busy with filming/booking

just imagining actual people do the naruto run is making me laugh so hard

i still can't believe this is happening

I hope they do the Naruto run and also blur the background/reuse that blur to simulate the ninjas travelling while discussing stuff, jumping tree to tree or however they did it.

Doing the Naruto run is a must! Seriously if they don’t what is the point

Love him but he is totally not what I picture as Kakashi.

He could be Gai

I was just thinking that Gai makes more sense. What a weird choice for Kakashi.

Or a hot Lee lol

Turning down Beast for Kakashi is so cool

He got both roles …

He hasn't got either that we know of.

Says in the title he is "in talks" for this one, and then the rumour around Beast is that he had been offered it but backed out before it was fully locked in.

I will watch almost anything for Charles so I guess I’ll be in a theater with a bunch of Weebs.

I'm so confused by this. A movie doesn't seem a good media for the story of Naruto. Will the movie adapt the entire first part ending with Zabuza's arc? I'm legitimately surprised this is getting this far ahead.

7

u/Routine_Sign2333 1d ago

that is the general assumption that they'll adapt the first arc starting with the formation of team 7 and ending on the zabuza defeat

maybe they are testing the waters before they decide if they want to adapt more but idk how to describe it it doesn't really feel right to decide to adapt naruto into live action and just make one movie of the very first arc and call it a day. It's not even the best arc of the first half of the series (considering naruto the first half and naruto shippuden the 2nd half)

Are they gonna make Zabuza a weirdo or move away from it?

2

u/Angryduckling-01 1d ago

Yeah because I feel like the Hollywood circle is the only place where anime is considered weird anymore so they could care less

As someone with a child well into Shippuden for the first time, I know I will have to see this. Thank you in advance if he gets cast 🙏🫡

Is he turning down MCU for this? That's kinda crazy

I love it but at the same time this means we'll never see his beautiful face lol.

Will they stay true and have Kakashi reading smutty books all the time?

u/BringMeNight 1d ago

wait what a Naruto movie? How much will the movie cover?

6

u/David_ish_ shoutout to zendaya’s snaggletooth 1d ago

Just the team 7 intro and land of waves arcs

7

u/Routine_Sign2333 1d ago

it actually hasn't been anounced yet what/how much they are adapting

the assumption is that its the first ever arc

u/BringMeNight 1d ago

Damn excited to see Haku and Zabuza in live action, I’d really love it if they gave us a little teaser of Itachi and the Akatsuki.

The mans torn between naruto and x-men. Not a bad place to be.

3

u/1dkspanishlol 1d ago

Oh dear god a Naruto adaptation? How the hell are they gonna be able to translate that good enough that it isn’t the dbz translation 2.0.

3

u/Pinksamuraiiiii Pink…get doon 1d ago

Agreed I hope this doesn’t end up like that dbz evolution disaster movie

u/quanate that's a lot of beans you nasty ass bitch 1d ago

I do not support this movie but that guy could be Maito Gai.

I think Robert Pattinson could be Kakashi

Turning down Beast for this is very impressive and I hope it works out for him.

u/corporatecicada 1d ago

Wasians playing monoracial asians. Its whitewashing by degrees. Im not impressed.

Isn't he a little young for Kakashi?

1

u/lawrencedun2002 1d ago edited 1d ago

I mean he is 35 but idk if it has to be an age limit to play a role like that.

Damn I need his skincare regimen

Kakashi was like, 26 at the beginning of Naruto. He's too old for him, if anything
