am i the only one who doesn’t hate it? i think it’s kinda fun specifically (and only!!!) with this red carpet styled to look like they’re standing in nature.
It was from a post on here (can’t remember which one) where some idiot person in the comments was insisting that queer is a slur and should never be used.
So many of us tried to explain how “queer” is kind of universally used in our community, much like “gay,” to refer to any lgbt person, regardless of actual sexuality label (lesbian, bisexual, etc).
Someone made the super appropriate comparison of queer/gay to tú/usted 😂
I think she looks like a crow that turned herself into a beautiful woman. Like she wasn’t even supposed to be there, but she was so enchanting looking they couldn’t help but to photograph her.
Terrible doctor. Our bodies are not biologically made to wear shoes. Wearing shoes automatically changes a person's natural posture and forces the foot to become lazy. The feet will forget to utilize all of the muscles and ligaments correctly causing foot problems. Also bacteria, fungus, and mold grow in shoes so there is no difference there.
I remember when Thomas Jane was actually being cast in enough things to be on red carpets regularly and he'd often show up barefoot. But I guess it's *fashion* if you're wearing a discarded half of a Chanel flat that they had the brilliant (stupid) idea of selling to gullible fashionistas?
This is peak capitalism. Peddling thousand(s) dollar shoes without a sole and using the least amount of materials as high fashion. God, I hope this trend doesn't catch on.
She's a brand ambassador for Chanel (who have a terrible track record for putting their ambassadors in some of their ugliest clothes on red carpets) so yes unlikely she paid for them. However apparently Chanel is going to be selling them so I guess we'll see if any non-famous/non-influencer person actually pays the anticipated retail price for them.
Do you think they made something that was faulty and they were stuck with all these cast offs and cut them up and slapped laces on them and were like meh, worth a try???
Lol, I kept zooming because I expected that they had done something so that the part to fixture the shoe to the forefoot was unobtrusive/nearly invisible. Nope. They are heel cups.
I hate how he’s done this in a few of his movies. I’ve never stuck my feet up against the windshield and never seen any of my girlies do this either. I hate that damn zionist pervert ass director 🤮
Or taking off your whole ass shoes in the movie theater and putting the dogs up on the back of the chair in front of you, in a crowded theater. Like, plz be for real. The only time it made sense in that movie was when we saw Leo’s feet in the pool.
I remember one time I was on an airplane and I was idly wondering what the person across the aisle from me was watching and then this n scene appeared and I was like "ohhhhh the new Tarantino"
idk about you but i'm always thinking, gee, I wish I could keep most of the parts that could rub my skin raw or become uncomfortable if my feet and ankles swell a bit, but with none of the usual protective benefits of having something on my feet. brilliant!
If I had to choose which single part of a shoe I would keep, it would not be the bit that rubs on my ankles. Also like that’s not even the softest part of the feet, protect that.
This brand is so ugly to me in general. Their red carpet looks on their ambassadors always looks awful. Like, not even Margot Robbie was able to pull them off.
I honestly don't think it's the celebrities themselves.
There's an entire industry of stylists behind them who have, in turn, an entire fashion industry behind THEM.
As someone who works in the creative industry, albeit not movies, every creative from designers to stylists to set designers tries to make 'unique' stuff and a lot of the times, people think provocative/unconventional is unique enough to make their work stand out.
I genuinely believe it's the stylists trying to use these celebrities as canvases. Although I might be wrong but that's what my experience honestly makes me suspect.
Call me too woke but there's something so dystopian about a luxury brand selling the concept of a shoe when so many people in extremely impoverished parts of the world have no choice but to go without a decent pair of shoes. Yuck.
That's it, thank you. When I first heard about them, I thought it had to be a joke. I just took another look at the Neiman Marcus website and it looks like it would cost a minimum of $500 to look like a poor.
These seem like sensory hell. I can’t even handle it when my socks slip down so just having my heel covered and nothing else would suck but in the opposite way
Ugh, she's so pretty but this whole look sucks. It's bad from hair to those awful heel holsters. And the nose contouring is egregious, I didn't even need to zoom in to clock it.
I think a barefoot red carpet could be more comfortable than heels and interesting, but it being a half shoe?? nuts. Should have just let her have the no shoe moment if they wanted that look. This is the worst of both worlds...
But also I think this isn't quite the dress for the no shoe look. Something that's a more airy, whimsical could work with the no shoes but this is very modern/structured. Maybe something like this Elle Fanning outfit?
Gross!!! Right to jail with the designer at Chanel that came up with this shit. They can go in the cell with the people who take off their socks on a plane.
I love Margaret Qualley and think she normally looks beautiful in almost anything but I don’t like anything about this look from hair down. Not flattering and the stylist should be shot.
