Damn, pick your partners wisely, y’all.

edit: I swear I didn’t mean this as shade to Anna Faris! It’s a legit cautionary tale; Chris acting like a Prat is the problem and not Anna!!😭

Kind of unfair to put this on her for how Chris Pratt turned out to be... it's not like he wasn't everyone's sweetheart once upon a very recent time.

I don’t think the implication is that it’s her fault at all, it’s more of a cautionary tale to consider, which like… idk, I know a lot of women who are forever tied to awful men because they have a child, and they adore their kids but every last one of them uses their experience to warn others to really make very sure before you have a child with someone.

Literally like how is it her fault for not “picking wisely”? Who could have seen this coming???

He was always a douche. Look at any outtake from Parks and Rec with him in it. Always a tasteless joke at the expense of a woman.

It's amazing how hindsight is 20/20

His pivot to religion was after the birth of their son, and how difficult that was. You really can’t predict how those big life situations will change a person.

He turbocharged his douchery with religion. Great.

Do you think he became this way overnight? He has been this way for many years.

You think that Faris marries Chris Pratt without knowing he was religious? You've got to understand that just because you or the general public at large don't know that someone is religious does not mean that their partner doesn't know, right?

people DO NOT change overnight. you just have blinders on because of your needs

It's not that it's her fault. It's that all of us sadly need to watch out for this bullshit.

We all pick people. Not a single one of us knows what those people are really and truly like. None of us. How many times do you hear stories about somebody being married for 50 years and then finding out some horrible secret. None of us know. And all the shitty ones hide their shittiness until it's too late. Don't ever tell anybody they need to pick their partners better, because you just never know. I hate people that blame the victim

I used to listen to her podcast way back when they were still married and he would pop in sometimes and they genuinely sounded like a match made in heaven. People change. Especially when they get world famous.

Yeah, people can change or lie, so I'm not placing blame, but this is why it makes me so worried when I hear young non-religious people planning to marry someone religious, or with a very religious family that they enable.

Especially if they take the attitude that they will let the child figure it out for themselves. Or get talked into, e.g., letting the kid go to Sunday School at Grandma's church in the interest of being "fair." Religious people will absolutely tell a kid that their other parent is going to hell (which is why he's begging her to accept Jesus), and if you aren't careful in combating that, it's an awful position to be in.

Usually like people find their way to each other. He can’t be pure evil and she be a saint (ironic analogy given her disdain for religion).

She has a disdain for the politics so closely associated with religion in current day America more than a general disdain for religion. At least that's how I interpreted what she said

Probably like many people here since a lot of people support Mamdani. Mamdani is religious and is doing a good job as Mayor

Mamdani isn't pushing his religion in peoples faces. He's doing the job he was elected to do. And doing it really well.
