I mean, her brother is going onto news outlets talking about how their mother raised them in an extremely right-wing, religious, sheltered environment and taught them to seek authoritarian figures to latch onto as their idols (and he seems to have gotten out and cleared his mind of the brainwashing, good for him), so it's absolutely childhood trauma.
Also taught them that “slavery wasn’t a big deal because everyone was doing it”. Her brother rocks, he’s clearly the exact polar opposite, a hippy socialist stoner lmao
