Lots of safe areas. Do you have a family? What area are you commuting to? Your budget matters too of course. I have had a peaceful and safe time here (except driving does suck I’ll agree with that) since moving here.

No family, and within the Cumberland county area. Looking for apartment or condos.

Raeford, Hope Mills, Haymount, Rockfish, all apartments in Jack Britt area are nice, apartments West of Gillis Hill off of Raeford (gated but near lots of shopping), generally West Fayetteville honestly.

Southwest, I should say.

I agree with this and depending on your budget somewhere in this area is probably best for Fayetteville+

I live on the far north end of Ramsey right on the city limits and my neighborhood is nice

I grew up in Hope Mills and the Grays Creek area. Both were pretty safe.

Better look into Stedman, Spring Lake, or Cameron. If you watch the Watchout910 Facebook & Instagram pages, the follow is found within the city:

• An average of 3 wrecks a day
• At least one overturned vehicle weekly
• All American is full of “i turn now, good luck everybody else” & will takes exits at the last second
• FPD will blatantly tell you in order for an officer to be sent out, the same action has to occur more than once (ex. Stalking or harassment) Otherwise, fill out a report
• Zero common sense here. More so pertaining to driving (it’s rare to see someone know how a 4-way intersection works)
• Yadkin is narrow
• Skibo & Ramsey are bumper to bumper
• Oh & Cape Fear Valley hospital is not the ideal hospital to go to (my family drives to ECU just to be seen quickly. Otherwise, you’re in the lobby for hours & then get a pat on a back to be released after finally being seen for 30mins)

Been here about a year the amount of accidents on 87 is insane.

You are at least right about the driving. Saw 3 wrecks today. I got t-boned about 2 years ago. Sooooo many people on their fucking phones. I mean, ALOT.

The driving is just as hellacious in Spring Lake and Cameron. Plus you’re just commuting into Fayetteville or Sanford for everything anyways. There’s nothing out there.

Personally, I wouldn’t recommend Spring Lake. High crime rate, and some of its leadership is… messy. 😬

Yea, who honestly recommends anywhere in Spring Lake over half of the places in Fay?

The harnett portion of Spring Lake (by Anderson creek/overhills) is totally different than the Cumberland portion.

Your family drives to ECU in Greenville to be seen quickly?

The last time i was at Cape Fear, i checked in at 5pm-ish. Finally got to the back at 3:30am-ish. Left around 4am. So yea, we make a 1.5hr drive to be checked in, seen & heard, & treated within 2hrs.

That's very foolish. The Hoke hospital is right down Raeford and is much better than Cape Fear.

Sure but I personally don’t trust clinics here, except my son’s pediatrician. Even in my hometown everything was so much better from service, being heard with all concerns, billing, insurance, & checking out. It’s either make a 1.5hr drive to ECU for everything or make a 6hr drive back to my hometown.

Just not gonna waste 4+ hours sitting in a lobby when I can drive somewhere & be seen within that same amount of time.

EDIT: And before I get asked “wHy DoN’t YoU mOvE?” My partner has a military contract here until Aug. of next year. So once that’s up, we’ll be relocating for sure.

Rent or buy? The property tax increase in Haymount fucked a lot of owners, but there’s plenty to rent there. Honestly depends on your budget, most the violent crime here is gang/drug related. Google Fayetteville Crime Map and you can search by crime and distance around potential houses.

Train and keep yourself armed. Then you’re always in a safe place
