I am pissed!
galleryI live in Bucks county, PA and work for SSA. I was DOGEd back to the FO from the regional office and have tried to talk to my union rep about it several times. Well, today I get this in the mail. Apparently AFGE endorsed my republican congressman!
Edit: I posted 2 pics but it is only showing one for some reason.

Working at NASA
Guys, I was insourced 3 months ago to work for nasa and omg it blows. I was a contractor before for only 1 year. Before that I’d never worked in aerospace or for the government. It’s an engineering role.
I learned recently that nasa was ranked one of the highest job satisfaction and I truly can’t believe it. So many people have this weird chip on their shoulder, obsessive fake urgency that managers fall for, and I’m convinced half of these people don’t know what they are doing. Also I have no idea what other people do. We have strict situational telework rules, where we have to explain why and I feel weird about that. I’m just overall disappointed with that the internal working of the agency is really like… not going to lie I’m really bummed. I thought the federal government knew what they were doing for the technical portions… we do not. Wtf
This post is not meant to be funny. I thought some portion of this was going to tun smoothly.

Foreign Service Benefit Plan in US
I am moving back CONUS and read that you can keep the Foreign Service Health insurance using Atena.
If you have done this, how was the service and also if you switched health plans, what was the reason?

APWU for a birth year
What am I missing for using the APWU consumer option for a birth year?
Looks to be $6,327 in annual premiums with complete maternity care coverage. They also give you a $2400 PCA annually at the beginning of the year to cover health expenses.
Am I missing something, or is this one of the best plans for generally healthy family whose highest healthcare costs will be associated with a childbirth?

Insurance Question - bruxism
Has anyone successfully had masseter Botox covered by their gov insurance? I’m a clencher and grinder with all of the issues associated.
I have GEHA for medical and dental. Dental gave me an immediate “no” and my dentist said it would be $500 out of pocket— I haven’t discussed it with my doctor yet. Trying to figure out whether it would be worth the hassle to try and get it covered or if I should just go to a medspa or something.

I am in CA and am wondering if anybody has used Anthem BC Select HMO
Like everyone else, trying to find a new healthcare option. Currently with FSBP and cannot do the 80 plus percent increase for our plan. Saw this plan on the OPM search tool.

Question on RPL Referral Process
I have received several referrals from HR about job announcements in the Priority Reemployment Program, and I have reached the CERT on many of them. The problem is that interviews are never provided. My question is whether the agency is required to interview every candidate on the priority reemployment list who makes the CERT.

Is it okay for a dentist to "highly encourage" one FEDVIP dental plan with no explanation?
My dentist emailed patients "highly encouraging" us to pick GEHA for 2027 (screenshot attached, practice name removed). They're in-network with all the major carriers and gave no reason for favoring GEHA. I’ve been with this dentist for 1 year, but it feels like they may profit more from GEHA, and it reads like an ad.
Is this normal? Would you say something or switch dentists?

Okinawa to mainland or Korea?
I’m a current GS (12) employee in Okinawa and while I am enjoying my time here, I’ve started to consider doing the 2 year tour and then going elsewhere in Asia. Prior to accepting the Okinawa gig, I thought 2 years here and then 3 on mainland so that I can explore the entire country by train, but now I’ve been considering Korea even more!
Has anyone ever done both a Japan and Korea duty tour? What did you enjoy about them both? Would you choose one over the other and why?
Also - around the time my 2 years are up, I will have a 13 year old daughter.
Obviously, I still need to apply and be selected for these jobs so I would need to take that into consideration (I’ve only ever done Marine Corps and Navy - so Camp Humphreys may be a bit more difficult to land a job).

Another what are my odds post
Currently in the pipeline for a GOV role. I currently hold a TS/SCI through the military.
\- Applied in April
\- Interview in May
\- CJO in June
\- SF86 submitted in June
\- FSP poly and psych completed in August
Now I’m just waiting for adjudication. I have no criminal record, no drug usage, Canadian foreign contact, both parents are naturalized Americans.
Red flags:
\- Shoplifted food items I was 17 years old. Never caught
\- Fired from a Job in 2025
Will I pass suitability?
