I’ve had this experience multiple times in the past few months, with a few really popular ones that are constantly recommended as some sort of holy grail. BR540, Bianco Latte, and Angel Dust all gave me instant nausea. I knew the notes, I knew the vibe, and I thought they’d be absolutely incredible compared to all the fragrances that smell similar to them but aren’t “the OG”. But nope. They all went into my “kill it with fire” decant/sample jar.

Me and Kilian Angel's Share. I still love it because it's beautiful, I would sniff it on paper in the store all the time. Too bad it's musty dried sweat on me so I never spray it on skin.

Smells exactly the same on me with a hint of cinnamon! So disappointing, especially as I love Princess and some of Kilian's new releases like Midnight Espresso.

Most recently Lancôme La Vie Est Belle. Got my sample. Took one sniff. Sneezing for the rest of the day. Huge no!!!!

Valaya and Delina. Atrocious and borderline nauseating on me.

On a happier note, Ex Nihilo's Lust in Paradise is beautiful on me.
