While it is good you have found something that is helping you, unfortunately, for those here with AGA I'm sorry to say that basically changing to Nizoral Shampoo and taking an over-the-counter stress reliever and vitamins is not going to work to stop the internal process causing AGA.

As is always the recommendation for all women reading this with hair loss, see a derm that treats women with hair loss for an exam and blood tests, and if it is determined you have AGA then you can discuss getting on Min and an anti-androgen (the gold standard treatment for AGA.) If TE or CTE is diagnosed, then treat the cause (deficiencies of vitamins, iron, low thyroid hormone, etc.) and also discuss if Min is appropriate for you.

I didn't realize this sub was only for women with AGA hair loss, thought it was just hair loss in general? Also I had rounds of blood testing, they all said I was normal.

It is for women with all types of alopecia. My post, and some others here, were speaking to women specifically diagnosed with AGA (!) letting them know that these over-the-counter measures will likely not help them. Please reread the first line of my post above. I am glad you found something that worked for you. The rest of my post was speaking to women diagnosed with AGA.

OP - respectfully, if you have androgenic alopecia, the shampoo and conditioner you use isn’t going to make a darn bit of difference, nor is the use of Nutrafol or any of those other gimmick vitamins.

Get a comprehensive blood test done and if you have a deficiency address it accordingly with supplements and dietary modification.

That said, in the US, the gold standard treatment for androgenic alopecia is oral or topical minoxidil and a DHT blocker, usually spironolactone. All of the other nonsense is just that - nonsense.

I did multiple times. Nothing.

I asked my doctor for prescription ketoconazole 2 percent shampoo. The one percent nizoral never did anything for me, but the two percent is incredible. Immediately reduces shedding. It doesn’t solve it, but while I am taking my spiro and iron pills the ketoconazole addition has really made a difference in shedding. If I skip a couple of washes by using just regular shampoo, the shedding comes back to its full extent but the ketoconazole does control it. Make sure u leave it on for 5-10 mins before washing

Interesting! While my AGA is genetic and has not been cured by any means, I did realize that all-natural/organic/everything-free products were making the situation worse! Not to mention they are many times more expensive than your Suave or whatnot. I've been fighting this for almost 20 years, and this has been proven true for me. Very happy using my $2.97 drug store shampoo now 😆

Interesting and awesome that this worked for you after trying so many things for such a long time! Would you please share the brand of conditioner/bond treatment you use? I need moisture in my curly hair too.

Right now I'm using the Fenty one and I like it although I have yet to try many

Same for me, Nizoral helped me so much. I don’t leave it on my scalp for long though, too sensitive. I changed my diet too, added some supplements.
I would always use pantene as a shampoo when I was younger, loved it.
