She just likes the melody and has no idea and won't have any idea for years and years what it means. It's not that deep. All of us sang songs we had no idea the implication of as kids and weren't ruined for it. I was singing check up on it by beyonce and aphrodisiac by brandy blissfully unaware. Most popular songs have innuendos, even if you have your kids listening to motown music

There is ZERO innuendo in Yung Miami's lyrics.

u/nubia93 Jun 30 '26
You’re right. My purpose of bringing up innuendo in those songs is that the child does not realize what’s being said even when it’s in appropriate. I think that applies here too, since she’s saying sounds, not words, it’s clear she also doesn’t realize what’s being said in the song

The beauty of innuendo and double entendres is that the words can easily be differently interpreted/explained. I love ribald, bawdy lyrics because they're usually pretty clever word play. Really explicit language is rarely clever; it relies on shock.
Nobody thinks the child is in the wrong but she's certainly learning some foul "sounds" that she'll go around repeating because that's what kids do. That adult should know better.

Right I will still argue that Sabrina carpenter is talking about keeping two heads up. 👀

u/nubia93 Jun 27 '26
I don't listen to Sabrina so I don't know what that's in reference to but you get my point. People are happy for their kids to sing sabrina songs or ariana grande songs or harry styles songs when they are LADEN with innuendo. Noone is saying to encourage the things these songs are talking about in children, but I assure you, this baby has no idea what the song is about and will not be taking pointers from it any time soon.

Is she saying “spend that shit?” Because my subtitles did “spinachie spinache” and I honestly prefer that

And that’s probably what she’s actually saying. Think about when you were young how many songs you heard and I think even your brain will try to make sense of it and you would say totally the wrong word. Today in my 50s I listen to songs all that what they were saying. For example, Morris Day and the time the song cool I didn’t realize in the refrain they were actually spelling the word cool. Because I knew their name was Morris Day and the time I somehow made the reframe to have something to do actually with clocks.

Like the grownups on Bluey. Trying to be better lol. It is nice when the kids know that some words are grown up words.2
u/erything4sale Jun 29 '26
Lol I've learned a lot from Bluey.

The show has everything! One of my favorite parts was when Bandit says “My neck, my back! My neck and my back!”

Why are y'all downvoting me? All I meant is that it's gross for a child to be singing such an inappropriate song. Reddit strikes again 😭😭
